It's only fair. The reigning, defendng, Light-Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson came down to the full super-middleweight weight limit to fight him.

It's payback time. Remember, the focus should not be on GGG and what he just demanded, but on WARD. What has ever been asked of Ward for a fight to be made? For Dawson, there was no compromise. Hell if he agreed to a 172 compromise against Dawson, he could've been the LIght-heavyweight Champion as that is still Light-Heavy. But he took Chad's offer and just defended his belt like it was another contender.

He should either fight GGG at 164 or move up, and stop this 172 weight testing business. If you haven't outgrown 168 by now then you can definitely make 164 without a problem.

WHy would the focus not be on GGG? He is the one with more exposure. So we are seeing if he is living up to his claims of being willing to fight anyone from 154-168.

This would be fine, accept you and a lot of others have defined "challenging yourself" as the mark of a great fighter. You've cited "moving up in weight" as an indicator of prowess. You've demeaned catchweights, as something that shows fear.

I hope you can understand why posters are hitting GGG hard if he fights lemuix or Ward @164.
Lemeuix @160 is a step in the right direction and is acceptable. MW is a wasteland but if he wants to stay there then at least fight the best it has to offer. The man is 33/34 already!

I think it's on both of these guys to give some more ground, 164 is unrealistic, Ward isn't coming in at 163lbs, 166 is perfect, especially if we consider that shedding weight is more challenging and dangerous than gaining it. But Ward seems adamant on no catchweights so at the moment I'm putting blame on both of them.

... He's willing to fight anyone from 154-168. Right...

And he's willing to fight Ward a the particular weight of 164... Where is the contradiction here? I see no contradiction... He could have called him at 160, if he wanted to.

Well so much for Golovkin punches harder than some heavies...if he did, he'd have no problem going up just 8 pounds...

no need to sugar coat it , catch weight are not good for the sport , its usually the A side the dictates it and usually its the guys that are losing weight that lose.
Sergey and his team have declared that he fights at 175. No catchweight for Sergey; however, Ward got to fight Chad Dawson, light heavyweight at 168 - not a catchweight splitting the 175 and 168 divisions, so now it is time for Andre Ward to compromise and fight GGG at 164. Ward must face the fact that he isn't the A side as he isn't the draw that GGG is. Plus it would be easier for Ward to cut to 164 than it would be for GGG to bulk up to 168. After all, if Ward is SOG, cutting four pounds ought to be nothing - either that , or Ward is not SOG.
P.S. Ward doesn't want to fight GGG, and his refusal to fight at 164 is proof.

                    payback time?!?

the focus should and will stay on Mister 164....his team are the ones talking reckless about being avoided....Ward is by far the more ACCOMPLISHED fighter of the two....Ward has decisively beaten ALL the Euros in the S6....he mugged a drained lineal LHW champ at 168(the only knock on his resume) but it was Chad's choice to come down....he WANTED Ward bad but didn't realize what it would cost to get the fight...Chad's mistake not Ward's

Again, the focus must remain on Mister 164...it's only fair

That tells me they don't want the fight, which is a shame.
Mayweather said he will knock out Pac, but he didnt it. So Mayweather is a bum
Tyson said he will eat Lewis children, but he didnt it, what a shame.

I hope there will be the day all dumb fans would realize that fighters TALK for the media to hype themself , just as a marketing move.
