Golovkin wants to unify all the titles at MW. Ward is not a middleweight. Ward is inconsequential to GGG's primary goal. Beating him does nothing for GGG's reputation at all and could cause him difficulties in achieving his primary goal. Ward should be kept for AFTER GGG has unified all the titles at MW.

I would want to unify all the titles at MW against JMW's too if I was GGG. Are you saying he would somehow be unable to do this by fighting ward? That's your reasoning?

Because Golovkin has stated very clearly, and only idiots cannot get it into their heads, that his primary interest is in unifying all the titles at the middleweight division, the division he has fought at his entire professional career and the division for which he is naturally suited for. He also has stated that he has no interest in winning titles at any other weight class. Why is it that some ignorant people cannot respect what the best middleweight fighter to come along in years has set as his personal goal?

So why the hell do Team GGG keep bringing up Ward's name? What about "being willing" to fight anyone for 154-168?

Cotto was defending a MIDDLEWEIGHT LINEAL TITLE AGAINST A MIDDLEWEIGHT CONTENDER. Golovkin would be moving up to an entirely new weight class to fight a man who many consider the best boxer in the game. when will you accept the fact GGG is no different than a lot of top draws-he will do anything to get a big money fight and will avoid those high risk/low reward fight until he gets the big fights so hi earnings (and those of his team/promoter/network) are maximized.

It's called MONEY. A PPV fight. Something a Ward fight would not bring to the table at this time. If a boxer is going to move from his division and put his career at risk he should be rewarded accordingly for it. No one is claiming any different. It is only Ward fans who think he brings a lot of money to the table. So much money that his last fight was a time buy on BET in front of a crowd where about half of the people got their tickets for free.

Ward brings nothing to the table at this point in time and he is the one who needs GGG and Kovalev, they do not need him.
