He also has stated that he has no interest in winning titles at any other weight class. Why is it that some ignorant people cannot respect what the best middleweight fighter to come along in years has set as his personal goal?
because he was willing to drop those goals in a second for a fight with floyd, froch or chavez jr. why don't gullible groupies like you just admit this.

when will you accept the fact GGG is no different than a lot of top draws-he will do anything to get a big money fight and will avoid those high risk/low reward fight until he gets the big fights so hi earnings (and those of his team/promoter/network) are maximized.

FFS stop the pretending that he is some throwback pro with 150 fights fighting top contenders every 2 weeks.

      *168lbs actually means 164lbs
well, in Cottoville middleweight is 157, so..............

FYI, Im just busting your chops. I am against ANY catchweight in ANY title fight. If GGG's team is just using this as a negotiating tool to get a better split, or venue, then thats fine. But if they make 164 a deal-breaker then they are no better than Cotto.....

Would be hilarious and a forum killer if GGG KO's Ward everyone would be quiet

Ward is at the top of the sport? One fight in two years against an out of shape, overweight, untrained blob puts him at the top of the sport? PLEASE!

Golovkin wants to unify all the titles at MW. Ward is not a middleweight. Ward is inconsequential to GGG's primary goal. Beating him does nothing for GGG's reputation at all and could cause him difficulties in achieving his primary goal. Ward should be kept for AFTER GGG has unified all the titles at MW.

GGG fans: Ward is scared to come down and fight! GGG just wants an even playing field!

            Pathetic.
Add ****** to the description about yourself if you can't tell the difference in those requests.

A Ward - GGG fight at 164 would NOT be a title fight. Golovkin has stated that he has no interest in winning a title at 168 at this time. His focus is on unifying 160.

              • GGG is ducking and using the big name small guys to do it.

Good post. All of the biased double-standard arguments are getting pretty old.

Both guys want to clean up big fights with guys their size or smaller before committing to take on the boss of the weight division above them. It is reasonable on both ends, and their interests don't meet right now. Everyone needs to stop being so emotional about it.

I dont think so. Id be praising the heck out of GGG for his career defining moment. Then again Im a fan of Boxing, the sport itself. Im not a cheerleader for any fighter.
