      In this situation, the bold.

Mayweather is a genuine legend, and PPV superstar.

So are Pacquiao, Cotto, and now Canelo.

GGG is none of those things, and does not even have a career-defining moment.

Golovkin is the B-side, the same as Ward. He is simply not enough for A-side/B-side negotiations to be the sticking point in a fight negotiation.

Mayweather/Pacquiao/Cotto/Canelo..... became superstars by fighting world class opposition..... so when Golovkin states that he cannot fight world class opposition, because he is the A-side..... he comes off like a total hypejob.

Golovkin should be desperate for a defining fight, but he just makes excuses.

He has been guaranteed a fight for the WBC title for over a year now and was willing to move up to 168 for Chavez or froch fights wasn't going stop him from unifying in his weight division against those two guys so why is it going stop him against ward I don't understand the logic

its funny how much people hated that BS when it came to Mayweather v Pacquiao and every other fight but now its okay for GGG to use it
          Exactly !

And the thing is, both of those guys are actual superstars, and Golovkin is not.

What did Ward do? He took E-Rod instead... E-Rod, doe...
... Then (on Nov. 17 2013) what did Ward say? Look: "I respect (Golovkin), but I see holes in his game. ... Ask them if they want it at 168 (pounds) right now." (NB: it was on Nov 17, 2013!!!)... Then what did Ward do? Ward retired!!!
In 2014 Golovkin called Ward again but Ward came back as late as spring 2015 to fight the dangerous Paul Smith, doe!...
... Lately Ward is talking GGG again!

... Who can take this guy seriously? You never know what he will do next in a week or a month from now...
... If Ward really wants to be taken seriously he must at least fight someone of notice and call GGG after... Fight Dirrell, fight DeGale first...
            Awful awful awful

"must fight someone of notice and call GGG after"...hahaha...HAHAHAHA!!!

Highest payday and lowest risk? You're just talking out of your ass now. In no universe is Geale ever considered the highest payday of anything. He fought him for no other reason than he was a middleweight and Geale would serve as a decent middleweight title defense. He has no intentions of ever fighting a top middleweight, the only reason he's playing this game is because his belts are his leverage on the negotiating table for Canelo (or at the time the possibility of a Floyd rematch).

Are you telling me Willie was GGG's biggest payday? Bull****.
HBO paid Golovkin $1.5 million for being Golovkin. He would have got the same purse against the other available options - Heiland or Johnson. They fought Monroe because of a lack of fighters available (Cotto said no, everyone else had a fight).

And as I've told you, GGG can beat David and Andy... I will give him more credit for beating Ward at 168. End of story.
No fucking shit. What is the point in even saying this? Ward would get more credit beating Kovalev than GGG but that doesn't stop Ward from preferring to fight GGG now does it?

Golovkin is a middleweight. His goal is to unify the middleweight division and become lineal champion. This is pretty much the entire point of boxing. Like Bernard Hopkins before him and Marvin Hagler. Clean out the division, become the best, dominate.

He can collect belts from whoever he wants, neither of them are the fighter Ward is. Not only would GGG be moving up, he'd beat an undefeated fighter a divsion above him, possibly as the underdog.
Again, what is the point here? Golovkin would get even more props skipping 168 and beating Kovalev! The sky is blue.

Tell me again why I should be impressed beating the **** out of guys he'd be favored 6-1 against? Oh that's right, because he gets some belt for his efforts.
Why would I care if you're impressed or not? Boxing is a sport. In this sport the best in a weight class are supposed to fight the best fighters. We have for years wanted one champion in a division, not four. Not five. One. The goal, as Gennady has said for a long time now, is to unify 160 and become the man of middleweight. Unfortunately it's pretty difficult to do with diva's like Cotto holding the crown hostage. This is exactly what I predicted would happen when Sergio-Cotto was announced, sadly.

Cut the ****, it's move up or bust and I've said that for a year now. GGG is too good and powerful for anyone at MW and below, to be challanged he needs to move and that's what I want to see. Not picking off belts to help his marketing campaign.
Just because you admit Golovkin is too good & powerful for Cotto doesn't mean Golovkin shouldn't have to prove it. Why even fight then? What's the point if you already know the outcomes to fights? Just because Mayweather is too good for everyone at welterweight doesn't mean he should leave the division. What a ****** argument. Klitschko is too good for Heavyweight, he should just retire since they're aren't any other divisions to move up to!

Guys, he is just a boxer trying to get better terms; drain the guy like Ward did

But this should be the end of "GGG beats anyone from 154-175" though. Those threads and hype can die forever. He KOs Kovalev! ward Running!
