Aside from his fights with Canelo and Pac, showtime either ended up in the red and took a loss and those were PPV fights. How can they expect to make money off of free tv fights? Sure you can sell tv slot time, but it still wont be able to cover the costs associated with such a guarantee plus other expenses.
If the flexibility were within the guarantee, then it wouldn't be a guarantee.

I haven't read anything that says the guaranteed money is for PPV only. That obviously doesn't mean it's not the case. I just haven't seen it.

Because you have too much money and would pay $20 for a hot dog lol. I spend money loosely as well but even I wouldn't pay $100 for this and I doubt people who watch their money would drop on it.

I been saying this from day one. The only logical sense this makes is if Floyd is getting pressure from Haymon to try and help the struggling PBC. From a financial sense and the fact Floyd only has a few fights left in him you would want to maximize your money and that means PPV. Fighting on free tv only helps Haymon give PBC a shot in the arm. But to do that somebody is going to lose money either Floyd or CBS. Depending on how the contract is written with Showtime. I have heard nobody verify that the 30mil guarantee is valid whether he fights on Showtime or CBS. Many have speculated that the 30mil is only good if he fights on Showtime. We do know that showtime will allow him to fight on CBS but questions remain like if he does that does he still owe 1 more fight to Showtime? Or if he does that will he still get that 30mil? If not then what sense does it make to leave all that money on the table just to help PBC.

Well its possible that there were 2 provisions in place. One for ppv fights and one for CBS/free tv fights. Just because the public was told that the Showtime contract was for $32mil per fight doesnt mean that there wasnt any fine print in that contract that wasnt made public.

Yeah. I actually edited my post while you were posting this. I don't know if the $32 million was just for PPV fights or not.

TMZ sucks for reporting things early without concrete evidence.

Whoever is Jr.'s opponent if it's not Berto, I feel bad for. They going to have what? 1 month to train for the fight?

That's a good question...the six fight deal was with Showtime/CBS I thought...so with that being known then the folks at Showtime may allow this last fight to be on CBS due to the success of May/Pac.

I probably will too. Invite people over or even take a 2 day trip to Vegas. Floyd fights are big social events like the Super Bowl.
