The only way this fight is on CBS is if they can find sponsors willing to front Jr.'s guarantee. I doubt this happens as with the climate we are in not many companies are going to want to be associated with Jr.
I wanted to see a Khan/Jr. fight, the build up would have been fun just like with Hatton back in the day.Comment

Sounds like Haymon is paying step aside money to showtime, to allow Floyd fight on PBC.. so PBC can grow for Daddy Haymon.. then he'll fight for win #50 vs paquiao again on Showtime PPV.. and they're going to say fuck HBO.. and try and keep all revenues..Comment

hate to break it to u but floyd could fight the guy working at wendys and its worthy of a ppv with only couple fights left honestly though if he does fight on cbs that would be a very cool move on mayweathers part the problem is the anti mayweather pr machine that fighters have been using to sell themselves may make it where it doesnt matter and people wouldnt fully appreciate it
Aren't we trying to break away from that particular business model ?
I agree with you that the numbers will be great, no matter who Mayweather fights on free TV..... but personally, I have seen tonnes of Mayweather fights over the years, most of them..... and I am not interested in watching Berto get it.
There are lots of things happening in life now, maybe I'll watch it, maybe not..... depends on when it airs.Comment

Anyone with the slightest of business acumen can tell you that there's no way on earth a $32mil guarantee will apply to both ppv fights and free tv fights.
Aside from his fights with Canelo and Pac, showtime either ended up in the red and took a loss and those were PPV fights. How can they expect to make money off of free tv fights? Sure you can sell tv slot time, but it still wont be able to cover the costs associated with such a guarantee plus other expenses.
Also, anyone with the slightest of business acumen can tell you that Shotime have profited very handsomely from their association with Mayweather.
They netted 7mil PPV buys from 2 Mayweather fights dude.
Also, common-sense tells you that Mayweather will not receive less than his contracted guarantee, which is 32mil per fight. If Shotime prefer CBS, they will negotiate with Mayweather accordingly..... and I believe that Mayweather will almost certainly receive a backend payment on top of his $32mil guarantee.
This is all about market share/ratings/advertising, and Shotime are in a great position because of Mayweather.
Sorry to have to break it to you the hard way.Comment
