If floyd fights on ppv, it won't be against berto

It will be either khan or brook because of the uk fanbase

The only way this fight is on CBS is if they can find sponsors willing to front Jr.'s guarantee. I doubt this happens as with the climate we are in not many companies are going to want to be associated with Jr.
I wanted to see a Khan/Jr. fight, the build up would have been fun just like with Hatton back in the day.

$30 million guarantee, with the flexibility to fight on CBS. I highly doubt Floyd signed any contract with a stipulation to make less money.
Unless its for some ****** deal for his 50th, he may take less for a ****** payday for his 50th

If you think they are going to pay Floyd $30 million bucks to fight on OTA I have two famous bridges to sell you in NYC....Hell they wouldn't pay him that to fight on showtime in a non-ppv bout.

Sounds like Haymon is paying step aside money to showtime, to allow Floyd fight on PBC.. so PBC can grow for Daddy Haymon.. then he'll fight for win #50 vs paquiao again on Showtime PPV.. and they're going to say fuck HBO.. and try and keep all revenues..

That is probably true, but other fighters have recently been criticized for milking the public with shht fights..... Pacquiao/Golovkin, just to name two..... and this is Floyd Mayweather we are talking about here.

Aren't we trying to break away from that particular business model ?

I agree with you that the numbers will be great, no matter who Mayweather fights on free TV..... but personally, I have seen tonnes of Mayweather fights over the years, most of them..... and I am not interested in watching Berto get it.

There are lots of things happening in life now, maybe I'll watch it, maybe not..... depends on when it airs.

Aside from his fights with Canelo and Pac, showtime either ended up in the red and took a loss and those were PPV fights. How can they expect to make money off of free tv fights? Sure you can sell tv slot time, but it still wont be able to cover the costs associated with such a guarantee plus other expenses.
Anyone with the slightest of business acumen can tell you that it is not about immediate profit, it is about market share and ratings.

Also, anyone with the slightest of business acumen can tell you that Shotime have profited very handsomely from their association with Mayweather.

They netted 7mil PPV buys from 2 Mayweather fights dude.

Also, common-sense tells you that Mayweather will not receive less than his contracted guarantee, which is 32mil per fight. If Shotime prefer CBS, they will negotiate with Mayweather accordingly..... and I believe that Mayweather will almost certainly receive a backend payment on top of his $32mil guarantee.

This is all about market share/ratings/advertising, and Shotime are in a great position because of Mayweather.

Sorry to have to break it to you the hard way.
