That's called knowing what to expect from certain fighters.
There's no way though that you can say that you PREFER Floyd or Rigo to play it safe despite having their opponent completely outclassed rather than turning it on and pushing for the stoppage. I dont expect that from Floyd or Rigo either and know what I'm going to get when I tune in to one of their bouts. Doesnt mean I wouldnt prefer for them to go above and beyond just playing it safe.
but that's who they are so I never look for them to do thatComment

YES!!! Adjusting the weight classes is an absolute necessity along with eliminating catchweight title fights.
It's amazing that a bunch of posters here on NSB could revolutionize the sport for the better and those who are actually in control of it do nothing but sit on their collective ass.Comment

Exactly.
I have always said that a fighter has to take a title from a champion but a champion can keep a title with great defense. You can't win a title going backwards but you can successfully defend it that way.Comment

I just think winning needs to be what boxers are rewarded for.
In the past if a fighter gave his all and lost he was still respected. It's hard for me to respect guys that do not try and win.Comment

this is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on here. Why is it the others guys duty to initiate action. Shouldn't both guys be trying to fight? You also just admitted your hero is boring. We don't want actionless fights, we want guys like Manny, for example, to learn basic skills like cutting off the ring, like the power puncher/pressure fighters of other generations, so when they fight a master boxer the fight will be entertaining.
What we do not understand is fans like you that call out boxers for moving, something that has been done since the sport began, and not complain that certain fighters haven't developed all the skills necessary to counter that and make the fight entertaining.
If LeBron misses 2 FT's, do you get mad at the dude that fouled him?
Why do boxers have to make it easy for those less skilled to win?Comment

Its both guys duty to try and win the fight. If a outfighter is winning on the outside, then the pressure fighter needs to do something about it. Which is why we call for the pressure fighter to cut the ring off and learn how to trap opponents because that is what they need to do to win the fight. The guy boxing on the outside (in this scenario) is already winning, he doesnt need to change anythingComment

Parsing out one sentence and responding to it out of context is very weak dude.
Both fighters should be trying to win. if they both try to win, then the action and excitement will take care of itself.
For example, Floyd/Hatton and Floyd/cotto were not boring because Hatton and Cotto they kept fighting to win. Floyd/canelo and Floyd/Manny ****** because Canelo and Manny were content to lose by UD and stopped fighting to win.
You and others are suggesting the guy winning should go for a KO and risk losing to make the fight more exciting. I and others are suggesting the guy losing turn it up and go balls out to win.Comment
