There's a long list of guys in their 20s who look lightyears ahead of Broner.

The only reason people noticed the guy is Floyd, and Floyd has since switched to hyping Errol Spence I guess.

From the list, I'd pick Bute.

Too many people knew Broner ******.

'Next fighter of the decade', 'The new Mayweather', 'Future P4P king'...Adrien Broner.

Fair play to HBO/Golden Boy though, they took a guy who was fighting the likes of Gavin Rees and managed to pull the wool over a lot of people's eyes.

AMIR KHAN AND IT AIN'T EVEN CLOSE.

Once all of those other fighters started picking up L's and KO losses, boxing critics and fans adjusted their expectations more or less accordingly. Amir picked up unavenged KO losses left right and center and is still talked about as being God's gift to pure boxing.

Imagine, if after Bute got stopped by Froch, then fought a few tunes, whilst avoiding threats then suddenly every one started saying he's the only fighter who could challenge Ward at 168.

Yet Khan supporters (especially Paulie) are under this massive delusion that Khan is the number 1# threat in the division to the P4P #1, even after going life and death with Chris Algieri they're still convinced of it.

But don't get it twisted Khan is a talented World Level fighter, but the thread is about hype jobs.

                    It has to be Broner.

Not only were fans calling the next Mayweather but actual people in Boxing aswell. Infact they were saying he's better than Mayweather.

I will never forget on Ringside when Johnny Nelson, Glen McCrory and Spencer Oliver aka The 3 Dummies were saying that Broner at age 23 is a better version than Mayweather. Followed by Johnny "I literally have no clue" Nelson talking about how easily Broner dominated Ponce De Leon. They were talkng about how his Defense is as good or better than Mayweather's except that Broner has power and an amazing offense Aswell. Crazy.

Even after Broner edged passed an old Malignaggi people were STILL hyping him. God knows why.

Then Maidana was called a cherry pick, and Broner was going to "brutalise" him, "Destroy" him and "Massacre" him. A new term "Chino'd" was going to be coined after the beating Broner was going to put on him. It baffled me then and it still does now.

It wasn't until Maidana batters him that the hype truly stopped.

Broner, and it's not even close.
