    Biggest hypejob of recent times?

All these guys were touted as killers at one stage. i'm not interested in people who everyone knew wasn't that good like Khan, Chavez jr etc

    Who's the worst offender?

    Adrien Broner
    Lucian Bute
    David Price
    Seth Mitchell
    Andre Berto

It has to be Broner. Guys were claiming that he was the future p4p #1 after Mayweather retires.

      Lucas Matthyse.

Before Swift stopped his hype train, it was reaching GGG proportions.

It was even starting to get popular to say Mayweather was ducking Matthyse. TG for Danny Garcia.

He actually exposed two humongous hype jobs, Matthyse and Khan.

I'd say Lucian Bute, people thought he'd beat the top guys in the Super 6 and he'd rule 168.

AB was a bit of a hypejob but this guy was already getting gifts against Quintero and Ponce so the signs of mediocrity were already there early on.

as far as i remember, the bute supporters were something of a minority on nsb. broner actually had most people fooled and even made it into the ring magazine p4p rankings

                It's easily Broner

Price, Mitchell, Berto were just seen as promising prospects maybe future champions. Nothing out of the ordinary. They were let downs but most fighters don't live up to their promises.

Bute was a natural rivalry that built up between the Canadian scene and the ongoing Supersix tournament, the man they had to fight to unify. Some overestimated him but nobody was preaching his ATGness.

Broner, so many people fell for that promoter bait & hook. Even Dana White of the UFC was predicting he would be the next megastar and fawning over him in interviews. You had people acting like he was the second coming of Christ without being able to name any of his opponents then when he squeaked out a win over a shot Malignaggi they all acted like he beheaded Lennox Lewis with his pinky.

All that and it's hard to call him even average. He's mediocre. He's not even Bute level. He's a quitter who starts trying to get DQ'd or run the clock down when he's losing. He has worse footwork than Arreola and knows 2 punches.

it's Bute by far...AB is still 25 or something like that....Wlad was KO'd a few times by the time he was that age....so the door of greatness is still open for AB imo....but he has to change many of his ways
