HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
These ratings got some of ya SHOOK! Lol!
Stop trying to defend these sh#ty numbers! stop with the "it had competition" crap! It was on the MAINSTREAM channel of ESPN (a Major Sports Channel) and it was the PREMIER of an event on the channel, and it's supposed to host some of Boxing's biggest & rising stars & it was very well promoted (seen ads everywhere) & so all that.....these are the ratings we're smacked in the face with!...maybe next time.

I will be honest, I can't remember seeing boxing fans ever as passionate as the Connor fans was on Sunday besides maybe Hatton fans when he was getting ready to fight Mayweather
Boxing fans really don't do anything now but Complain! Even when they get good match ups they complain. When Schaefer and Haymon was giving fans stacked Cards a couple a years ago people was still complain about somethingComment

It doesn't? (or was that sarcasm?)
He did say American. I thought of crowds like that and it was foreigners like Hatton, Canelo, Pacquiao, Cotto and soon looks to be Golovkin. Hard to think of an American boxer who got crowds coming to support them like McGregor.
Are these people attending the McGregor fight Irish or Irish-American?It looks as if a bunch of drunk European soccer fans stopped by to watch a fight. And what other sport do the Irish have to get excited about, curling? But I guess you may have a point. Because what I witnessed in AC was not passion, it more so alcohol mixed in with a$$holelism.Comment

I do think a monopoly is possible in boxing, remember a monopoly doesn't have to be 100% control of the market. I wouldn't have a major issue with it provided the public received the fights they asked for, in fact it would be welcome because that hasn't been the case in boxing for decades (if ever). No matter what Haymon does, he will never be in total control. There will always be competitors, just as there are in every industry. What Haymon is doing is no different than what Wal Mart, Comcast, Home Depot, Lowes and every other large corporation has done over the years. That is to capture as much of the market as you can.
Top Rank and Golden Boy are filing lawsuits complaining that Haymon is trying to create a monopoly and drive other promoters out of business. My question is what is wrong with that? ? When Lowe's and Home Depot came along, they drove thousands or even hundreds of thousands of small hardware stores out of business. When Super WalMart opened, it drove numerous small retailers out of business. None of these small stores or companies sued or even had the right to sue simply because they couldn't compete.
Yet, in boxing, promoters think they have the right to sue a company that is outperforming them, and gullible fans thinks this makes sense.
As long as the money is there in the next 2-3 years, I think he will achieve it.Comment
