Win or lose Thurman is that dude and is very good for the sport. Very down to earth, very well articulated, is willing to fight who ever in the weight class, stays active and has an exciting style.

Just because other people may over do the praises shouldn't have any effect on how YOU as an individual thinker evaluate him.

Many people are ****** enough to buy into Floyd being "TBE" but that doesn't force me to now look at him in a negative way (career & skill wise). What causes me to look at him in a negative way is what an absolute piece of **** he is but that's another discussion

Im not impressed with Truman yet. I wish he would shut his mouth though. He talks like Bernard. Ego is to high. I see him gaining over confidence. Like Lacy, Berto, Judah. Getting step up fights and losing them all!

Collazo Fought The Best Fight Of His Life & Thurman Didn't Look Like One Of The Best

Collazo pushed the action all night, took the fight to Thurman, until he quit. Thurman threw nice punches, good combinations, moved well in the ring, but did not look dominate at all; clearly looked mediocre at best. Hurt with a body shot is not a good sign. Had Collazo not quit because he claimed he couldn't see out from under a cut that looked no different than most cuts we see in the ring, this was a night that was not going to finish well at all for Thurman. Take that any way you want to. I have a feeling the Guerrero-Thurman fight took too much out of both Guerrero & Thurman, as both came back looking poor in their next fights. Had this been Provodnikov he was fighting, got his by his body shots, and Provo will fight thru blood from a cut, Thurman on this night would have take his first loss. I like Thurman, but this was not a performance you'd expect from him, against a guy like Collazo, who light hitting Khan knocked down 3 times.

Love how you left out the most important tweet by Dan stating the actual numbers and how even he admitted they fell short of expectations. The tweets since are Dan who works for ESPN trying to put makeup on a pig. Now we comparing this to Friday Night Fights which had a fraction of the budget Haymon and PBC just spent? How about we compare the fight purses from friday night fights where guys were making 50K-100K to fight. Thurman just made over mil in his purse. Hell the total purses combined on sat was what 10-15X more then what they paid friday night fights. Or the millions PBC just spent producing and promoting. Fact is this fight lost MILLIONS of dollars and got WORSE debut TV ratings then SPIKE TV got for PBC. Worse ratings then Khan got on SPIKE TV and Spike doesn't have the influence in sports that ESPN. This is a bad start for PBC on ESPN and shows that Thurman has a long way to go to get his star level up. Only 4K in live attendance and terrible TV ratings.

Three factors hurt the TV ratings. One picking such a terrible opponent for Thurman. The weeks leading up Thurman had to defend the fact that he was even fighting Collazo a huge step down when fans were expecting him to take a step up in competition. Second putting this fight on head to head with the UFC fight on Saturday. Three if you look and see the trend for these PBC cards they are all going down. The Ratings for the primetime fights on NBC keep getting lower. The SpikeTV shows on Friday keep getting lower. The Sat afternoon shows keep getting lower. Overall too many shows spread over too many networks and too many bad mismatches have hurt the PBC brand. People can't keep up with the days and times of these shows and when 80% of them are gross mismatches that won't attract casual fans.

Some people in this sport just simply don't get it. Isn't this the result of too much hyping up of boxers referring to them as the next big thing in boxing, then fight Collazo type opponents? Don't know what exactly this author expect. I don't remember people praising Khan when he beat Collazo. They didn't even praise him when he beat Alexander.

Doubts would have been erased had One Time pushed for the Alexander fight when it was available to him, then beat him. He fought 40 year old Bundu, instead.
