you guys shouldnt be so naive

ill believe it when i see it. Canelo wins and he could just drop the belt and fight Lemieux for his belt and Cotto wins and he could retire...that is if the WBC actually enforces it

For all you rules experts, if GGG refuses to come down to say 155 and that kills negotiations does he lose his mando position or would the WBC come in and force it to be at the weight division limit (160)?

Yeah how the **** could anyone figure that stuff out? I would imagine that Cotto/Canelo must fight Golovkin at 160, unless they come to an agreement on a catch weight on their own terms. I don't think a mandatory would be forced to fight a CW.

That would seem to make sense but we are talking about the WBC. All we can do is wait and see I guess.

I think ggg will be forced to agree to a CW if not the winner will just vacate. Or maybe canelo is going to try to unify (if he wins) with lemuix

Good point. That makes the most financial sense for GBP.

I think at that point K2 threatens to sue the WBC, and being that the WBC has lost these kinds of cases before, they'll likely force the fight and strip Canelo/Cotto if need be.

As for the catchweight I don't see it as much of a problem. Golovkin will likely do something like 157 and Canelo/Cotto will just have to accept or be stripped and labeled a coward.

I will believe it when I see an official announcement from WBC in my email or on their website. I also need to see an announcement from GGG and Loeffler that a step aside deal is in place. Until then, this is nothing but rumor and speculation.

War Golovkin! Cotto/Canelo is a huge fight as is, winner taking on GGG would be fantastic.

Also War Tom Loeffler for dis right here

I just took a look at the WBC twitter feed and there is nothing there at all regarding an agreement being in place. Nothing on the WBC website either. The only mention of the fight is that it was 'confirmed' by Oscar for Nov 21st which Oscar has already stated is not factual as nothing is signed as of yet. So this is just another case of a very poor quality sports writer going overboard to get some extra hits.
