The thing is tho in a way i think mayweather ruins the division cause we overhype fighters if we think they have even a small chance to beat mayweather and we also dont give them enough credit cause they cant beat mayweather its just not good
I agree with you, everything you said in fact. Especially with Spence being the best (mayweather not included) from 140-154, there is a reason he was an Olympian.

His name just doesn't carry the weight that Keith needs right now. The fight should be made in the near future, but not now. Let two champs duke it out rather than an A1 prospect and a guy with the goods.

Floyd's just doing his job as a promoter by mentioning Spence in with Thurman. Oscar did the same thing with Canelo. When Canelo was 19 Oscar was already hyping up the Mayweather fight. This is no different.

I see where Thurmans coming from, but that doesn't mean I don't wanna see the fight anyway.

Spence will earn his shot and when he does, Keith better not have any reasons to not fight him

Seriously dude stop bringing up Andrade and what kids did in amateurs. Head gear fights with kids vs and real fights with men. Boxing is littered with guys who lost in amateurs to somebody and then beat the breaks off them in real fights when both were pros. Thurman might get exposed when he faces top welterweights but don't use what he did before he turned pro as why.

Here's the thing ... Even though Spence hasn't earned his stripes yet, he is willing to face Thurman and or Porter. This cannot be stated for the Khan-man.

You got a point, I think Spence is a lot more solid, he has better balance and a harder punch.

Thurman you are two fights removed from fighting. BUNDU so give us a break. Spence will be seen as a better opponent than Collazo as well.

Thurman will fight Spence when the time comes, no doubt about it. I see the fight happening maybe late next year.

I don't really know what to make of the match up because we haven't seen enough of Spence against decent level of competition. I like what I've seen from him so far, but doing it against D level fighters isn't the same as doing it against B level guys or veterans of the sport.

Style wise, both have tools that can trouble eachother. Spence looks to have a good engine on him and does excellent body work, but he's flat-footed and not the fastest, so Thurman's mobility and ability to punch going backwards could be a problem for him. He could slow Thurman down with his body work and then try to take advantage of Thurman's lack of inside game.

He would have to be careful when working Thurman's body though because going downstairs leaves you open upstairs and body punching is a big part of Spence's game and I'm sure Thurman would know that going into the fight, so he could work on punishing Spence every time he leaves himself open going to the body.

We've seen both guys get hurt and both guys have good power, so it'll be interesting to see who takes the other's power better.

Spence = Prospect status. Thurman graduated from that level 2 years ago. He needs to fight the other top welterweights. There is no more excuses. In truth Spence should be fighting guys like Collazo and Bundu and Thurman should be guys fighting Khan, Maidana, Bradley, Brook, Porter ect. If Thurman fights any of these guys next it's idiotic to say he's ducking Spence. No he's fighting higher ranked world champs and former world champs instead of a unknown untested prospect who if Thurman beat right now he would not get as much credit then if he beat any of the guys I named. Now if Thurman doesn't fight any of those guys and fights another Collazo type fighter instead of Spence then call him a ducker all you want.
