I find a lot of Oscar's work in that fight to be overrated. His best shot was an accidental thumb to Tito's eye. Other than that, it was Tito coming forward all night looking to take Oscar's head off.

If you watch that fight with the sound off, you will see that a lot of Oscar's shots where either blocked of slipped by Tito. The rest he ate like candy because he was looking to land that KO shot while coming forward. In no way did Oscar win all of rounds 1-6. When he chose to run from 8-12... he paid the price. Tito was there to knock him out and not try to win on the cards and Oscar knew this.

This is a myth..Oscar ran the last round bc he thought he had the fight in the bag..he gave Trinidad a boxing lesson..I scored it 8 rounds 4..easy fight to score..Tito was a great puncher but prone to being out boxed...

Tito had some real talk I thought with what he said about Cotto's chances against GGG and in regards to the comp level recently by Cotto at middleweight. With that said, it was a pretty low blow to state that once Tito lost the championship, he never came back from it.

Cotto's is more of an insult vs Tito was just giving a no bias comparison of what many others have said already.
It's well known here in Puerto Rico that (for some reason) the Trinidad's have never liked\supported Cotto. I even remember one time that Cotto had a fight and Tito's father was basically saying that Cotto had no chance and Tito was taking pics with the opponent. I personally think that they (Tito's group) never like the idea that Cotto was PR's champ after Tito was done.

This isn't true. Bryan Perez made a statement the same day this bs interview came out. He said Cotto is on vacation and has no clue of what's going on in the island.

Might post link when I get home, if I remember.

Look at the sad little Oscar fans...

Quartey and Vargas pale in comparison to Mosley and Martinez. These are the facts people, whether he "should have won" or not is irrelevant. Floyd should have lost to Castillo, he didn't. He's still undefeated and that's how I look at every fight. Margarito cheated Cotto out of a win all that matters is Cotto avenged that loss, but the loss is still on the record.

Oscar has the most big fight losses of any major fighter I can remember. Hopkins, Tito, Mosley twice, Manny, Floyd... Lost every single one. And the best part? People think he actually did something to Floyd as if the fight wasn't a 10-2 lopsided as hell decision. It's not Oscar who Floyd says is his toughest fight. Oh well continue praising the golden boy, I'm just looking at wins and how they did against similar competiation. Cotto did better against Mosley, Manny and Floyd.

As for stylistically, Tito is all wrong for Cotto in the most obvious of way's:

                    Power : Tito > Cotto

                    Stamina : Tito > Cotto

                    Chin : Tito > Cotto

Level of competition : Tito > Cotto

The only advantage I see Cotto having is hand speed and foot work which will but diminish when Tito lands that flush left hook backpedalling Cotto in survival mode.

It will only look good for Cotto for the first 5 rounds than the onslaught will begin when Tito lands every bomb to a submitting Cotto.
Pfft even at hand speed Tito dominates him. Cotto just has great timing. I dont know about chin doe.

Cotto def has a footwork adavantage.
