These are the facts man nothing else. Cotto's best win is better than Oscar's best win, it's really as simple as that. All this talk of who had better competition and well... Cotto has more wins against better competition. He actually won 2 of his big fights, I really can't say that for Oscar.

Trinidad was overrated and very limited. Winky, Bhop and Oscar embarrassed him. To this day I cannot believe that robbery they gave Tito over Oscar, that was terrible. It is funny how people think Tito was the best PR fighter. He is not even close. I would not even put him in the top 5 probably. Verdejo will end up being way better than him as well.

          Hence you do the math.
Tito was never a pressure fighter, he was a boxer puncher with an over-reliance on his left hook.

He was a lot bigger than Cotto though, and Cotto does get caught on the left side a lot because he is a converted southpaw.

Trinidad had game changing power and I didn't say Tito had no chance of winning, but he's not winning on anything except his power.

He isn't anywhere near the pressure fighter Margarito was. He was a stalker not a pressure fighter. It's a close fight but anyone who even remotely boxed Tito basically won as I said, he was very limited.
                ******.

Oscar is an incredibly underrated fighter on here these days. Are we forgetting that he held his own with Floyd in a boxing match, first half particularly?

The guy had very good all round skills, movement, great jab/ left hook, right hand not so great but it wasn't terrible. He had a granite chin...

Oscar's only glaring weakness was not much of a right hand compared to his left imo. He was a terrific all round boxer.

He boxed Titos ears off but yes his decision to run the last few rounds was absolutely ******ed, and makes me not feel sorry for him over that robbery, cause you just dont do that when 1.4 mill people pay to watch you fight.

I disagree..Oscar had wins over Quartey, Vargas, shoulda got nod against Trinidad, Mosley2..Cotto has been well matched above 147..Tito was bigger at any weight they woulda fought at..

countrymen hate other countrymen reason being because they taken the spotlight of a previous legend. just look at all the great mexicans they hate eachother and claim they are greater than eachother. same here tito dislikes the fact he is no longer in the spotlight and cotto is worshipped by the puerto rican fans

                      Oscar ran for a reason.

" I felt his power and did not want to feel it again.." ~Oscar

I find a lot of Oscar's work in that fight to be overrated. His best shot was an accidental thumb to Tito's eye. Other than that, it was Tito coming forward all night looking to take Oscar's head off.

If you watch that fight with the sound off, you will see that a lot of Oscar's shots where either blocked of slipped by Tito. The rest he ate like candy because he was looking to land that KO shot while coming forward. In no way did Oscar win all of rounds 1-6. When he chose to run from 8-12... he paid the price. Tito was there to knock him out and not try to win on the cards and Oscar knew this.
