Lmao at some of these posts...

Of course Haymon can build a star

He took pretty boy floyd and turned him into the richest athlete in history

Made vernon Forrest a star by landing the mosely fights..

    Garcia
    Broner
    Wilder
Are some of the most publicized stars in boxing..

    Who's getting talked about more?
    Crawford or broner
    Spence or Verdejo

No one has created a legit superstar in over a decade on the American boxing scene

I dont get why people dont give him credit for the time Haymon was with Golden Boy. He had just as much influence back then on his guys as he does now.

People give credit to promoters when in actuality it is about the FIGHTERS!

Arum did not create Oscar or Mayweather, they basically created themselves which is why both was able to do even better and make even more money WITHOUT Arum!

So if Thurman, Spence Jr, Wilder and so many other young talent that many of you don't even know of yet that he has in his stable:
        Prichard Colon
Erickson Lubin (19 year old Phenom)
        Hunter Brothers (Michael and Keith)
        Jonathan Guzmán
        Ievgen Khytrov
        Jorge Lara
        Patryk Szymanski

just to name a very few who haven't even debut on PBC yet.

If they work hard and live up to their potential the PBC Platform of course will build stars but it is all up to the FIGHTERS!

Thurman is their best bet, but he doesn't have the talent. If Spence had Thurman's charisma he'll be huge.

I voted yes but only if the fighter is a good one. Haymon has no magic that can make a fighter who is not good continue to win at the top level. Broner is a pretty good fighter but when Haymon matches him too tough he loses.

I think after Schaeffer left GBP, everything should definitely be attributed to uncle al.

I agree they totally blew it for LSC. He had a lot of steam behind him, but his last 3-4 fights have been against the local garbagemen or gardeners.
They ruined it for LSC, I don't think it can be rebuilt either, he established a reputation as the guy who wont fight, which is something a mexican can never live down. They value their fighters for having balls and stepping up to the plate.

Same with Mares, screwed him too.

The sooner people realize Al isn't in it for the fighters, the better. He is in it for his "manager" fee. Which right now is good for the fighters because he is robbing a hedge fund blind to pay them astronomical money to take his cut of it.

Top Rank is historically the best at building fighters. They have the best matchmaker in the business in Bruce Trampler. Puts the guys in competitive fights they can win that help them grow, and build a name for themselves and a fanbase.

Al so far has built fighters by extorting networks into showing them in one-sided bumfest, on threat of pulling away Floyd from them. Its worked for him from a business stand point, since he isn't having to put on shows that make financial sense, but it hurts the fighters because they were not properly developed.

Floyd was built by Bruce Trampler. Notice how Floyds career has a competitive portion, and a non-competitive portion.

Floyd was all Top Rank until he left and fought Baldomir, after being built into a star by toprank.

Haymon did good for Floyd, leveraging his status as the best fighter in the world, especially after Oscar, but he didn't build him into a star.

All the other GB fighters that were Haymon Managed have been strongly criticized for fighting bums nonstop. Cough cough Danny Garcia.

Top Rank managed to turn to Talentless lazy slob known as JCC jr into a star and a draw. That says a lot about Bruce Tramplers abilities to build fighters.

PBC will need a great matchmaker to have any hope of succeeding beyond the robbing a hedgefund stages, and actually building star fighters. People don't like mismatches, and the fights on PBC so far, have for the most part stunk.

The right guy, yes...but finding him and doing it could prove very hard. If they found a guy with raw talent and worked him like a young Tyson and he was entertaining, they could build a fighter. It would be a great thing for PBC and boxing, that being said they have to find the guy and preferably an unknown guy, someone that no one knows at all.

Doing that would mean watching crap for many many years and once the built up fighter becomes well known you would have to watch him on PPV. I would rather they just put on fights and fighters that are already established, fighters that are not way over their fighting prime. At the moment they are going about it the right way.
