Wilder headlines his own showtime shows and had his own show leading up to the fight. Plus he sold out the venue in birmingham. Definitely a star. An American heavyweight champ captures peoples' attention. Imo, Showtime is pinning a lot of its post Floyd hope on Wilder.Comment

lets be honest pbc/haymon captivolted broner up to the next level, yes i know broner started on hbo and then made some moves on showtime, but al haymon was always his manager from the gecko,
with broners flamboyance and ****iness he was bound to be a star regardless of who promotered himComment

like 90% of fighters who were with haymon that fought under golden boy fights werent even signed to golden boy so what are you counting, are you counting the promoter or the manager??
because in that case it was haymon who built wilder since wilder was never a golden boy fighter, haymon only used golden boy because he need some type of promoter periodComment

Errol Spence Jr is on the verge of truly being something, has been moved along at a pretty well rationed and reasoned pace, and signed with Haymon from the moment that he was done with the 2012 Olympics.A lot people seem to think Arum is the best at building fighters. GBP did a great job as well with Schaefer. However, a lot of people are critical of uncle Al's ability to build a star, and question his matchmaking (or his team's matchmaking) under PBC.
I know PBC has only been around a few months, but he's been involved in the business for over a decade if not two.
Heck, Haymon basically ended up signing the entire 2012 Olympic team that the US sent to London in 2012. You add to that fighters like Julian "JRock" Williams, Ievgen Khytrov, and a slew of the other prospects at 5-15 fights that Haymon is pretty steadily moving along, and he's done a pretty decent job so far.
By this time, even next year, wouldn't be surprised to see Haymon with 3-7 fighters bubbling on the verge to break through.Comment
