I thought a couple years ago that he was just a puncher with fast hands so seeing that fight, actually jmpressed me. Bundu is a good tech boxer and he was being outboxed by a Thurman who people try to downplay as just a crude ****er. Floyd threatens to take his opponents head off every fight and all you ever see from him is defence and movement with the occasional potshot and people pay money for it but don't think Thurman is worthy. The ignorance is pretty impressive. Thurman is one of the guys out there who can beat floyd if he is able to execute his plan because of his hand speed, athleticism, good movement, boxing skills and of course his power. Not to mention the guy is clearly a student of the game. Anybody with half a brain who has heard his breakdowns of fighters and styles can see that.
I share your view - there's many a B level welterweight who would struggle with Bundu.

Thurman is the best example of Haymon/PBC needing to hire some better matchmakers. It also highlights how inexperienced they are in building a boxer properly.

Wilder goes from Stivernne to Molina. Thurman goes from Ghost to Collazo. These moves are very confusing to me. Its like the fighters are going backwards.

Thurman needs to be in with Bradley, Brook or Porter next to build up to a Floyd fight.

Thurman vs Collazo = Garcia vs Salka; Nice Job Haymon You Pimp

This will be a joke; thankfully it's free, unlike Garcia-Salka. I'm certain Thurman would fight anyone. But Khan who WAS available, ran off to choose someone else. I fault Haymon. His brothel of hookers, he gives them one name.... Which means, "you'll do what I say. You'll fight this guy, or you won't fight at all". Like Thurman said, "what do I say but OK?" Seems like Brook has been available as has been Maidana, Rios (Arum's guy/no chance), Berto, Chaves, Provodnikov, Alexander, there were plenty available. Thurman would fight any of those guys, and all of them would probably fight Thurman. But Al Haymon is the epitome of a pimp, who strategically placed his hookers where he wants tricks performed.

              ^^^Garcia-Salka it's not that bad.

He done knocked out chaves 2 years ago, it's like people forget this fight happened.

Thurman is at least being honest. We all know he and the other Haymon fighters are not calling the shots. After every fight you hear Khan saying I want this or guy or that guy, Thurman saying I want this guy or that guy, Broner since the Maidana fight was saying he wanted Maidana, Matthysee, Khan, Garica. All these Haymon fighters if it were up to them would all be fighting each other. It's a shame but Haymon don't want that and he is making a lot of his fighters look like cowards with these terrible mismatches to inflate their records. Look at the bums Wilder is fighting. You don't think Wilder wants to fight real fights instead of the Molinas of the world. You think Danny wants to fight Salka? They fight who and where Haymon tells them to. And because of that he makes a lot of his fighters look like beyotches.

You think Haymon is making these decisions about each fighter? I seriously doubt that he has time to do that. He might be their "manager" but that is just a facade. He won't have time to manage 200 fighters.

It has much more to do with Haymon needing to keep all 200 fighters occupied so the Collazo's of this world can't be matched against the Paulie's - that doesn't fit with his business model nor does it suit the needs of tv regards viewership and selling adverts.

Regards demanding better fights - well he is not-so-subtly complaining about this match-up - but for a fighter determined to stay busy you have to accept stay-busy level comp.
Adrien Broner is a way bigger draw than Thurman and Haymon has matched him up with Marcos Maidana and Shawn Porter. He also fought the #1 lightweight at the time in DeMarco.

If Thurman wants better fights he can get them. It has nothing to do with Haymon, PBC, Floyd ducking, hugging, running, clinching and cherry picking or whatever other excuses are being made for him.

This is like the trillionth time Thurman is taking a subpar fight because "no one else is available", "everybody is ducking me", "they didn't offer me any other names", "I had to take what I can get", etc.

Nobody is trying to hear that **** anymore. Put up or shut up.
