Fraud Mayweather Jr. and the word "coward" have become synonymous with each other, if you were to Google "boxing coward" or anything along those lines, the results will always be "Floyd Mayweather Jr."

Yea but back then they was stay hatin' on dem slick Eye-talians...

EDIT: I joke about it but I don't think its that far off. There's a reason why he used the name "Willie Pep" and his not real name.

            Why?

I thought Willie Pep was a pretty loved fighter the way most older boxing writers talk About him. But its hard to know since I wasn't alive back than.

Most people don't realize how many fighters we talk Abiut as greats, were quite hated back than, history remembers things differently than in real time.

This country did not like Italians all that much for quite some time. I couldn't say exactly when they became more accepted in society though.

Never even occurred to me he was Italian. And my Italian boxing friends never speak of him so I know they don't know either.

Well, let me get it out of the way that I've had almost 80 amateur fights and therefore probably know more about boxing than 99.9% of you. Mayweather hasn't always been boring, but he is now. He never goes for the knockout, never throws combinations and - worst of all - he has now become a prolific clincher. Rigondeaux's only redeeming quality is that he doesn't clinch a lot, but other than that he's the most boring fighter ever - he could knock every fighter out but leaves so much to be desired compared to the way he often fought as an amateur. Movement and boxing are fine as long as you focus on offense more than someone like Rigo, but constant clinching is not excusable and is in fact cheating. Holding should be penalised much more. I understand why fighters do it - in fact I do it myself as I'm an intelligent boxer. However, there is less of an onus of responsibility on me to entertain as I'm not paid for what I do.
You are complaining about Clinching yet have Ali in your avi? Floyd has clinched less then him and only began at an older age

First of Rigondeaux is not boring. Willie pep is not boring.

Floyd is and will always be boring and a fighter who found a loop hole to exploit the hugging and running tactics that diffuses the essence pf boximg which is to engage and fight. Big difference.
