At this point, the fight isn't even close to happening. Preliminary talks about a fight mean almost nothing.

She was approached? Where does it say that? In your dreams? All the articles says it said Duva had a conversation with Roc Nation.

Hes not ducking him. Kovalev is like a weight class above him so if they do fight there will have to be a catchweight.

He did this being well aware that Duva could not go to purse bid due to a 'right of first refusal' clause in Kovalev's expiring HBO contract as Stevenson had the same clause in his contract when it expired.

Duva thought she was smart but she was outmaneuvered and lost the game. No one is saying that Duva did not get herself into a no win situation or that her actions were well thought out. But at least get the facts straight.
She asked to become mandatory. Pursebids goes with the territory. She was made to look like a fool. Outsmarted by GYM.

On topic I think Ward prices himself out. He demands 2M for gimme fights. Surely he'll demand more than double that figure for Kovalev which will break a potential deal.

He Won't! If Ward wasn't serious about fighting then I doubt Roc Nation wouldn't be calling to see how they can make the fight.

Instead he would do like a lot of these others fighters do which is issue a challenge and pretend like he wants to fight through the boxing media but behind closed doors they don't pick up the phone

Ward and his team did not make this public that they're interested, Kathy Duva is the one who ran to the media with this twice now and made this public

Ward is not going to fear GGG or Kovalev...I know you the guy who is still butt hurt that Ward whipped Kessler ass would love to keep thinking that he is but clearly he is NOT. That fight will get done eventually!

Kovalev is the 175 pound champion and Ward just fought at 172.

A catchweight would make Ward look just pathetic.

the residual saltiness over a beating this man put on your heroes several years ago is pretty remarkable.

bat, you're usually a decent poster. you used to be, anyway. you were never a great, like me, but you were decent. andre ward has reduced you to this.

i'd like this fight to be at 175 lbs, and wherever it would make the most money / sense. this is going to be a hard fight to make. these guys and their promotors aren't going to take a paycut to fight the best opponents of their careers.

we may end up watching this one on PPV after waiting for it to be built.

a "****y face" on an undefeated pro boxer definitely merits complaining on bscene
