Why do you think Quillin vacated his title? Quillin got paid to dump his belt and not fight, rather than fight on a rival promoter's show on a rival network.

Lara's people already said it was doable. If that's a lie, then only way to find out is for GGG to call their bluff by offering the fight, which they haven't.

He hasn't fought on HBO because the Haymon ban. And HBO clearly makes exceptions when one of their darling A sides wants to fight someone from Haymon. They made an exception for their darling Ward when he wanted Rodriguez. They'll make an exception for their darling Kovalev for a Stevenson fight. They made an exception for their darling promoter Bob Arum when the Korobov-Quillin fight was supposed to land on HBO before Quillin ducked out. So it's completely reasonable to believe that HBO will make an exception for their darling Golovkin if Golovkin wants it.

Here's GGG chance to become a two weight class champion. Legacy!

Why are we assuming HBO would be the one to block the Lara/Golovkin fight? A member of the CSAC was quoted saying Haymon tried to block the LA Forum a few months ago. Only fight held at the Forum this year was Golovkin's.

And Lara averaged under $300k per fight vs Angulo, Trout, and Matirosyn. Now suddenly he gets $1mill for Rodriguez?!! What do you realistically think he'll expect for Golovkin?

I would be frustrated too if I was GGG. He is one of the most active fan friendly boxers we have today and few boxers are serious about fighting him. I huge have huge respect for those that do and as a fan I just have to wait for one of these so called elite boxers step up to the plate and fight him. I still don't think we have seen the best of GGG and his best knockouts will come on one of these elite fighters. Sometimes I think he just cruises through his fights and is still not even pushing himself to the limit. If floyd ever took him on I would have huge respect for him but I doubt it would ever happen just because of the risk for floyd. He is likely to be knocked out and quite early in the bout.

Bute was #2 at 168 at that time after the Super6 and Ward talked his way out of that fight in the post fight interview after the S6 final.
Ward didn't want any part of Lucian ****ing Bute lol
Bute even offered to go to Oakland but Ward did not want.
Completely cleaning out 168 and then fighting Dawson at 175 is what a real fighter would've done. Not Ward though lol
