116-111 for Floyd in the their first fight in an absurd score. Hehe. That's my opinion (and it's shared by probably everyone who isn't a PBF nuthugger on here who has actually seen the fight).
No it's not. It's the right score. If I'm an nut-hugger & you're a hater. I actually was more impressed with Mayweather in the first fight, then the second fight.
Anyway I'm pretty much tired debating this fight on this site. In my opinion PBF clearly won the fight. I guess I'm a nut-hugger.
It's the right score, sure, if you don't count body punches. It's a common scoring mistake that many people make. Fans who think Mayweather won that fight paid attention to Mayweather's flashy jab, but ignored the body work that Castillo was doing. Castillo landed 2 body punches for every jab Mayweather landed, probably.
You are right about one thing, though, debating this fight has gotten old...

Yea holding & hitting 3 weak body punches. PBF landed the more effective punches. I guess you're going with great HBO compubox I judge what I see, I don't judge a fight by compubox or the HBO announcers.
Anyway that is your opinion & that is my opinion. Anyway I don't want to debate about this fight forever, I think you're PBF hater & you think I'm a PBF nut-hugger.
None of these guys were even ranked on the p4p lists. they're ok fighters, but nothing great. **** is ridiculous
Exactly. I don't care about them not being p4p fighters, but they aren't the top fighters in Floyd's division(s). He hasn't been fighting the best fighters in his division, so because of that I think he should drop down in the p4p rankings. He is doing showcase fights against lesser fighters- the old RJJ move- instead of fighting the best and toughest fighters out there. So really, win or lose, no matter how the Judah fight turns out, I think the winner of Taylor-Wright should be p4p #1. Pac should probably be #2 and Floyd should be below him somewhere.
As for scoring the first Floyd-Castillo fight, I don't even know what compubox #'s were- although I do remember them favoring Castillo, not surprisingly. I just know that Castillo was hitting Floyd a lot to the body and it was easy to miss by the casual boxing fan. It was actually a lot like Ayala-Adams 1, where one fighter had spurts of flashy fast punches, and one pushed the fight relentlessly and did some great body work which he was not credited with. Adams, like Castillo, should have won that fight, without question.
Floyd on the other hand beat won of the sport’s best champions, Genaro Chicanito Hernandez who was very underrated and probably one of the ten best 130 pound champs in the division’s history. Chicanito had never lost at 130 pounds and his only loss came against Oscar De La Hoya at Lightweight. Hernandez had beaten Azumah Neslon and a slew of other top contenders such as Carlos Hernandez during his tenure as first a WBA titlist then as a champion of the WBC.
IMHO people think Castillo won the first fight due to PBF looking so dominant in every other fight that if he isnt spectacular versus someone then they give them the fight.
Winky Wright, PLEASE while a good fighter that is dominant in his weight class, His most notable wins are from Trinidad and Mosley two guys who came up from 130lbs and 140lbs respectively.
People are also spoiled by PBF willingness to go up in weight. Instead of getting praise for risking much on the bigger weights he is critcized for not fighting to elite guys at 140-147 right away, yet guys like Hatton who have been at 140lbs his ENTIRE career are praised for "FOLLOWING" PBF to 147lbs. Who has Hatton faced other than Tszu and why does he need tune ups, He's been at this weight his entire career. Its also a biased, just look at the adjectives and wording, Hatton following PBF to 147lbs, please.
As for Pacman a better argument can be made for him but the reality is that he is 2-1-1 versus his best competition. Also JMM is not better competition than Diego Corrales or Castillo. However Eric and Barrera can be argued as better than both but not not super better a good bit better. But as quoted above PBF has faced better over all competition and is stepping up his competition at the higher weights now that he has gotten aclimated to the higher weights. Its not his fault Zab didnt take Baldomir serious. If Zab would've won it wouldve been a mega fight.
Now If Pacman or Hatton went up 12.5% in weight and went to welter and middle weight respectively no one would expect them to fight the best out there in there first fight or 2.
Hell if Pacman went up just 9% of his natural weight and fought Corrales or Castillo (who IMHO cheated Corrales)I would be impressed and then you could "Clearly" claim him as the P4P but as of right now it goes to PBF.
Winky has to be some super stars that are at his weight and not superstars that are coming up to his weight. Also btw Winky is no where near exciting, he is effective but not exciting.
The fact is PBF has not only won against the best but has total dominated them (with the exception of Castillo I, which was closer but still a win, IMHO and in the records).
Also for the record I am not a PBF nuthugger my favorite fighters are Cotto, Corrales, Arce, Gotti

Note that you did not point out anything that PBF has done recently to deserve #1 p4p ranking. and yes PBF beat Castillo(the 2nd time) and beat Corrales, but both of those fights were a while ago. the Corrales fight was in 2001 and the castillo fights were in 2002, ever since he hasnt really fought the BEST opposition
