Aslo just wanted to add that when Eric Morales was coming off losses in both of his fights with Pacman. In the first fight with Pacman he was coming off a loss to Barrera and in the second fight he was coming off a loss to Zahir Raheem, however no one critcizes him for still fighting pacman or downgrades the signficance of those fights. But PBF gets criticized for not fighting top fighters because Zab is coming off a loss. Please guys be consistent and not hipocrits.

However more importantly if you take out Gotti you can see a linear line of level of competition in these new weights. He is clearly stepping up his level of competition at a New Weight. Zab is very dangerous and I will reiterate if he had not lost vs Baldomir it would be marketed as a mega fight.
Yes, PBF could've fought tougher opponents at 140 and 147 but he could've also stayed at 135lb and continued dominated everyone.

Originally posted by mECHsLAVEIf he's #1, then he's just barely clinging to it. As some have pointed out, he's clearly 1-1 with Castillo, and really his only recent big win you can point to other than that is Corrales, years ago.
He's not fought the best or won the true title at 140 or 147. So he's looking good, sure, but not fighting the best.
The #1 p4p ranking is CLEARLY there to be taken from him with a win by Taylor -and even Wright with a brilliant performance. Why? Because they are clearly the best at their weights. Floyd hasn't fought the best at his weight in 3 years. This will be the 3rd time in as many fights that Taylor has fought the best in his. Floyd has lately been a showcase fighter and not a champion.
NICE!!! Well Said!!

Mayweather is the 1 P$P fighter.
He beat many greates in boxing. If he is not the best then the guys he won over are bad and that is not true most of Mayweather oppenets are top of game fighters.
Its really rare to see someone beat many of boxing greats in one fighter e****ally today.
1- Castillo x2
2- Corrales
3- Corely
4- Ndou
5- Shamba Mitchell
6- Emuanl Agustus
7- Jesus Chavez
8- Aruto Gatti
9- Sosa
10- Hernandez
11- Angel Manfredy
Maybe Zab Judah is next. What more could you ask for with a list of fighter like that?
And He take every of his fight very serouisly so there is no doubt he going to screw any of his fight like Zab does

Floyd is 29 and maybe outgrew those lower weights, especially 135. I'm not convinced he is best at 147, but I have a hard timer seeing him at 135 now.
If his next 3 years are like his last 3, he will have wasted his talent. Great fighters are remembered for being in great fights, not for the meaningless P4P ranking. RJJ is gone already, and soon forgotten because his most memorable fights are end of career losses. That's his fault for taking prime fights against policemen and garbage collectors.
PBF is still young enough to create a legacy of wins against the best out there. Fans should drop him down the P4P and demand he earns his place by fighting the best. You get more of the behavior you reward, and PBF apparently is content to fight B level and collect HBO $$$.
I assume we all want the same thing - great fights. It's no fault of PBF's that Zab is a bum and lost to exceptionally average Baldomir, but that's only one fight. What about the last 3 years?

Originally posted by _EnRiQuE_i completely agree. to be top P4P fighter you should fight top opposition...not B level fighters. im not sayin all of his fights have to be megafights, but its has been so long since he has been in a megafight. PBF#1...i think not. there are other fighters who of lately have accomplished mroe than Mayweather(not careerwise, just in recent years)
I just hope the odus is not place squarely on PBF shoulders in these weights and pray that the other elites seek each other out aswell. I also think that the other elites fighting each other would be even more entertaining that them fighting PBF due to Castillo's, Hatton's and Cotto's fighting styles.
