Lately, everybody is calling GGG before their fights:
Lara before Rodriguez; Ward before Smith; Lemieux before Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam; Bradley before Vargas... and Froch before retirement...

... And GGG is ducking them all, right?

Lara is being calling out Floyd for years now as well... So? Is Floyd ducking Lara because of that?

Exactly, admitting defeat before the fight even started is worse than taking a loss.

Lemieux would be best but as usual GGG can't get Lemieux to fight him. Oscar is stalling and saying Lemieux will certainly fight GGG later but not right now. Funny how all these middleweights say they don't fear GGG and will fight him for sure but not right now. They will fight him later. Later never comes.

The point is that Mayweather is an all time great fighter with a hall of fame career. He doesn't need to fight Lara to prove anything.

Whereas Golovkin is 33 years old with a resume full of kitchen porters and pot washers. Lara would be the best name on his resume by far.

The initial question of this thread was: "Who should Gennady Golovkin fight next?"

                Easy:
                1) The holder of the WBC MW belt (mandatory fight)...
                2) The holder of the WBO MW belt...
                3) The holder of the IBF MW belt...

                Questions?

In "Dirk's world" maybe, but not in reality.

Haymon fighters aren't even a remote possibility right now. Haymon just got hit by another $100mill lawsuit this time by TR. HBO won't touch him for that alone. Add in the LA Forum venue block Al tried to do to K2 in May, it's ****** to even consider Lara right now.

Name someone better on his resume then.
