But that is completely separate from picking/avoiding an opponent on physical attributes (young, prime).

Why do all these young, prime fighters want to take on an older, slower, more battle worn fighter (relative to prime)?

Because there are other factors to picking opponents...

Porter's hopes were dashed when Mayweather rejected his advance and advised him to face Errol Spence on the pay-per-view undercard. Porter has no interested in fighting on the undercard, he wants Floyd in the main event.

147lb Paul Williams would have been Floyd's toughest opponent.

            Even to date.

Steroid Mosley and handwrap Margarito also would have been tougher challenges than any other on Floyd's resume.

Mayweather also avoids non-drained prime top non-black boxers. Floyd just HAD to be a diva and fight Canelo at that catchweight, he couldn't be a ring warrior for once in his life.

Casual fans have no clue who brooks is. This is still a business and the fight has to sell. Canelo tipped the scales on fight night at 174lbs. How on earth is that drained??????? Thats 20lbs over the jr mw limit. So again how is that drained? Roach and pac stipulate a fighter must meet the catch wt ON FIGHT NIGHT. Canelo was able to rehydrate so no drain involved.

                      He fought:

                      Judah
                      Corley
                      Mitchell
                      N'dou

Mosley ducked him in his prime

                      These dudes laid eggs:

                      Williams lost to Quintana
                      Bradley lost to Pac
Berto lost to Guerrero & Ortiz
Alexander lost to Porter & Khan
Clottey lost to Pac & Cotto
                      Lara lost to Canelo
                      Porter lost to Brook
Trout lost to Canelo & Lara

These dudes need to do more:

                      Thurman ain't fought nobody
                      Spence ain't fought nobody
                      Andrade ain't fought nobody

Brook is a candidate for 9/12. So what's the issue?
