I like how people try to downplay the different qualities that African Americans bring to the table.

It's not racist to say African Americans are the most athletic race, overall.

Find me any non-African American athlete with the athleticism of Roy Jones, Deion Sanders, Floyd Mayweather or LeBron James.

I could easily write an essay in here regarding "selective breeding" during slavery times, but I wouldn't expect but a hand full of people to comprehend it. The rest will just make a mockery of it and somehow attempt to assassinate my character.

I don't think race needs to be brought into it, all races can have phenomenal "athletes". Shawn Porter is not the stereotypical African-American fighter anyway, he's a mauler, and inside fighter. A good fight for Mayweather but nothing at all to do with his race.

One knock on Mayweather's resume is that he's never gone against a pure boxer. Someone like Rigo, loma, have those capabilities.


The closest he has to one around his weight class is Lara. Could make for a interesting matchup, as FLoyd could end up being the agressor against someone with Lara's foot speed.

Aren't these all American footballers and Americans boxers? You know the world is a big place with a lot of different sports, right?

If you looked outside the US or outside your domestic sports you'd see the talent doesn't come from one race.


I wasn't using Porter against anyone except Ken Porter because his son doesn't fight in the traditional African-American style so the comment seems inappropriate.

While there may be something to the whole selective breeding of the strongest ****** making African Americans better athletes, I don't think that's the whole picture. Poverty may be the largest factor. Schools in black neighborhoods generally are much worse than schools in white neighborhoods. This disparity pushes more blacks to seek success through athletic endeavors instead of academic ones. While a white kid in the suburbs might dream of being a lawyer, many black kids dream of being pro athletes. This is because it's one of the only ways a poor black kid can make it. So of course more black kids are going to be serious about athletics.
