Adonis Stevenson is the chump that jumped ship to Shotime before he could get it on with Kovalev. I feel strongly that Stevensen wants no part of Kovalev.

However, Andre Ward has already defeated strong EURO Champions before. I seriously doubt Kovalev mentally troubles Andre Ward.

Bernard Hopkins went on record stating he never wants to fight Andre Ward. Not because they're friends or business partners. He knows Ward is an automatic L on his record.

That same Hopkins fought Kovalev at 50 and was not seriously hurt, or concussed. He went all 12 and lived to talk about it. This is impressive because Kovalev is supposed to be a feared fighter and massive puncher.

Kovalev is afraid of power punchers, he knows he'll get put on his ass by one, Stevenson is too big of a risk for him. He was getting rocked by Pascal a guy with average power who was throwing some really sloppy, telegraphed punches, he knows he's not ready for a power puncher.

Ward should only move up when his body is ready, when he has time to acclimate to coming in near 190lbs on fight night like the rest of these LHW's.

Stevenson should fight Kovalev on HBO, its easily his best option. Since he left HBO for Showtime/Haymon, his numbers(and opponents) have been pitiful. And he's a Montreal guy, its really a feat to do that poorly in one of North America's Best boxing markets, double so as Canada's best rated fighter and lineal champ

Stevenson has also shot himself in the foot by fighting on PBC on network television. If he was fighting on Showtime or HBO, his fights would be PPV in Canada and he would get a good share of that revenue. But by fighting his last fight on CBS, it was unable to be sold as PPV in Canada and he lost out on quite a bit of money. If his next fight is also on network PBC, once again he will lose out on a lot of revenue.

Interesting, didn't realize his pbc fights are off ppv in Canada. Though Fonfara and Sukhotsky were Showtime and Canada ppv but who'd wanna buy that crap? Both did sorry ratings on Sho, a huge drop vs his Hbo fights prior. What's most telling is he failed to draw 5k for his last fight in boxing crazed Montreal, which is just pitiful

Couldn't have said it better myself. Stevenson only has one belt so who needs who more ? Same thing with Wilder and Klitschko. The real champ is the guy holding all the other belts.
