Because his sport is not called "fighting", but he does fight, just not the way YOU would like. fighting the way you apparently like, leads to short careers, fighting the way he does leads to selling more ppvs, not losing, and the highest selling PPV's in prizeFIGHTING. You apparently like the no defense, all offense style of boxing or fighting, face first brawling, that doesnt lead to being the BEST BOXER in the sport of BOXING and thats cool, but dont expect those kind of fighters to be acknowledged as the best in the sport. I can go to any bar to watch that, and it is not skill

If Jones & Hopkins never fought before until their most recent (2009 I think), would it be considered a big win though both were long-faded?

Mayweather can boast about having Pacquiao on his resume, but it's not that big of a win considering the circumstances. Not his best career win, that's a given. But Top 5? You can argue that. And if Pacquiao had won, I wouldn't consider that his best win.

Cowboy should win this. He certainly deserves it, but sadly he will never win in a popularity contest. The guy had an absolute monster 2014 and 2015 is looking just as good if not better.

Cerrone is a beast and has been on a run, but that lackluster performance against Ben Henderson has to count against him.

I think Mayweather should win it. Beating Manny Pacqiao is more impressive than anything any MMA fighter has done in 2014. Add Canelo and Maidana to the docket and Mayweather should run away with the award.

GGG deserves it. Most talked about fighter in the world today besides maybe Mayweather. People who don't like Golovkin are either biased because they have another favourite fighter or they just like to bash excellence. Anybody that knows boxing knows that a fighter like GGG only comes along about every 20 or 30 years. Mayweather is faster but GGG can cut the ring down better than any boxer over the last quarter century.

GGG has defeated nobody credible as of yet, so I don't know why he ranks so high. How is GGG even any better than Deontay Wilder? They are both hyped up to the MAX, undefeated power punchers. Yet Wilder is more proven.

GGG is pure hype as of right now. Overhyped at that.

Is it really considered fighting what Fraud does? Really? It's glorified sparring, he runs, hugs, and pitter pats his way to wins. When was the last time someone said, "Damn Floyd was in a great FIGHT!" or "Damn Floyd really destroyed that dude, bet he'll never be the same!"

They should also give Floyd the Caitlyn Jenner, ****** Courage Award, for being gay and proud.

He destroyed Ricky Hatton. Ended his undefeated streak and hype. Hatton was hyped more than GGG at the time and look what Floyd did to him.

He also cleverly outboxed a much bigger and stronger foe in Canelo.

Wilder was having a hard time and got rocked against a used car salesman in his last fight. Did you see that? Clearly GGG is the superior fighter than Deontay, who only had like 25-30 amateur fights I believe. He's just not that good yet (but he has legit power though). Maybe Wilder keeps improving his game though, time will tell.

Anyways, it's cool GGG got recognition, a lot has to do with popularity since this is the ESPYs. Obviously Floyd deserves to win though being he beat Pacquiao & Maidana I think.

ITS CALLED BOXING, NOT SLUGGING, BRAWLING, OR FIGHTING. Boxing is a sport.

Too many people call themselves boxing fans but don't take the proper time to actually learn the sport. It's really a shame.

Knockouts are nice. But that is not the sole purpose of boxing. Some people just don't have the attention span and focus required to appreciate this sport.

I really wish they'd make the switch to WWE. Even the UFC has become to technical for these types of fans.
