You do understand that Mayweather did not fight Manny in 2014, Canelo either? All he did was fight Maidana TWICE. Two fights against the same guy, neither of which was anywhere close to fight of the year, do not make Floyd 'Fighter of the Year', not fighter of the past three years. Even if you add the Manny fight to the mix, it does not help at all.

Now if you want to create a category for the best fighter who has learned the elusive art of 'fighting without fighting', then Floyd will be a guaranteed winner.

No, because of the fact that Floyd's fights always go the distance and barely qualify as FIGHTS due to the number of punches that are thrown.

In that case there is even less reason to vote for Floyd. I never noticed that as I did not click on Floyd's image as I did not wish to vote for him in error. The rematch against Maidana was almost as dull and boring as the Pacquaio fight. Both of them together could be packaged on a DVD as a sleep aid. As already mentioned, this is the best FIGHTER award, not best BOXER award. As such I do not think Floyd even deserves a nomination.

If the category had been best boxer, then yes, Floyd may well have gotten my vote. But not as best FIGHTER. It also goes to show how boxing has slipped when it does not rate it's own category in a popularity contest. I would have thought it deserved a boxer of the year as well as a fight of the year category.

You really do not follow my posts at all, do you? Surprising as you are so obviously an alt and are probably quite familiar with most active members here.

I think GGG is the best at 160, yes. I think there is no reason at all for him to drop to 154 to fight anyone, including Floyd, it serves no purpose at all. I also do not believe he should fight at 168 for anything other than a major PPV fight as a one off. Other than that, he should focus on 160 until he has achieved his goal of unification and then move up permanently to 168 if that is what he wishes to do.

It used to be called Best Boxer Of The Year they changed it to include MMA for 2007. Since the change only Mayweather (6 times) and Pacquiao (2 times) have won it.
