Nah Ronda Rousey has lost the award to Mayweather last year too. Actually, Mayweather has won every year he was nominated. The only other two years it was given out went to Pacquiao, who Mayweather just beat. It's pretty clear who is the favorite to win the award.

Yeah but this year before the Pacquiao fight ESPN went hard on Floyd for his domestic violence history. Ever since Ray Rice it's been a witch hunt going after athletes who hit women, so of course when the May-Pac fight was being super hyped, ESPN in particular went in on Floyd for his past, because that's how crappy of a network they are and they are no different than Fox News and the likes but for sports, just focus heavily on scandal and controversy.
