Carl's been a little more humble in this position than Joe was back in the day.

Calzaghe said in the last week he did not know who Froch, the new WBC super-middleweight champion, was — but he has done some research in the meantime. "Yeah, I Googled him," he said. "I've seen him but the guy doesn't mean anything. The guy don't mean ****. The guy he fought the other day [Jean Pascal], he didn't look any good.

"For me I think that's an easy fight, I'd knock him out inside four rounds because he's slow… The Americans won't pay one penny for him, they're not interested in him. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is."

Calzaghe is equally dismissive of Dawson, the IBF light-heavyweight champion, who was mooted as an opponent the moment Calzaghe defeated Roy Jones Jr: "As soon as I've won, HBO say, 'What about fighting this other guy now?' I can't remember his name… Chad Dawson.

"Why? Who is Chad Dawson? The guy has won the world title and he can't attract flies, he can't fill up his own neighbourhood. Why fight him? He's a good fighter but what does that mean? It's the same position as this Froch, it doesn't mean anything."

In a perfect world you would be right...
But, to date, I don't see some willing top opponents for GGG at 168, others than Froch and Ward...

Calzaghe needs to stop all this **** with Froch. He could have fought him, but chose not to. His record is nowhere near that of Froch's, although i actually believe Calzaghe would have decisioned Froch. He didn't and Froch has fought at a higher level and earn his stripes in the states. Calzaghe is bitter about that, but needs to let it go.

That's rich coming from a guy who wouldn't even risk fighting Kelly Pavlik or Chad Dawson.

Yeah cos he got 10 million to fight Roy Jones instead. Chad Dawson

Here's the interview. It was hardly meant in a mocking tone, just logical

Froch has made a lot of money, he doesn't need to fight again just like Joe didn't at the same stage in his career.
