But it was the only channel that would show the Ward fight, even with a time buy. That says a lot about his marketability.

The point is to show that there is no market for Ward. I do not have BET in my package but if it was a fight I wanted to see, I would have switched one of my channels I infrequently watch for BET for a month. If it had been a better fight, I certainly would have considered it.

People claim that there is nothing stopping a Ward - GGG fight. Well there is the proof they need... there is no money in it. Ward does not attract viewers. No one cares about him. He is certainly not an A side draw.
Lets just cut to the chase man,you are using this to say GGG should not fight Ward right???

I'm almost convinced at this point it's a Golovkin hater trying to make Golovkin fans look bad.
He's actually a good poster. IMO he's throwing support to the claim that Golovkin and Ward isn't financially viable because Ward appears to overvalue himself and what he brings in regards to fan viewership.

You're ignoring the point he was trying to make and sadly coming across as a bit of a "hater" in your post.

The problem aint BET, the problem is Andre Ward and his marketability. They had a lot of celeb endorsements and radio interviews in the lead up to this fight

Ward was on The View and Sway in the Morning, etc.

So Cotto should not fight GGG then right since he has never fought on ppv or any world champions?

So he got 0.004 % of a potential 90 million viewers.

2 million for that sounds like a great investment. Roc Nation knows what they doin.

Quite frankly, I'm shocked it did that many. I didn't think it could crack 25k

Fans that claim to want to see the best fight the best shouldn't care how poor the ratings are for this fight.

We know Ward is one of the 2 or 3 best fighters in the world. We know GGG said he would fight anyone from 154-168. We know Cotto and Canelo are not going to fight GGG this year.

A sides make fights happen so why doesn't GGG, the A side, just go to HBO and ask them to make the Ward fight happen?
