Yeah those 325k were riveted, glued to the screen.

Seriously though I wonder how many of the 325k were people who fell asleep with the tv on before the fight.

as if you care at all about american TV ratings.

BET, a network you've probably never heard of, is "black entertainment television."

it's a niche network. i didn't even ahve BET on my regular cable package until recently.

my only concern is that these shows aren't sustainable for rocnation. i don't care how much money they've got. they can't sustain gigantic losses liek that.

thy're taking a long term outlook on ward. they want him happy now, so that he wont' jump ship when golvokin and kovalev are potential PPV fights.

tjhe PPV landscape is going to shift dramatically when floyd retires. i can't say that ward will fill the void. i'd be shocked if he's a 10th of the star. still, a tenth of nine figures, which is what floyd allegedly earned to fight pacquiao, is a life changing amount of money, and worth the investment for rocnation.
Why are you bringing Froch into this? What does he have to do with it? I'm Canadian! I'm not a Froch fan. You are an idiot, though!

But it was the only channel that would show the Ward fight, even with a time buy. That says a lot about his marketability.

The point is to show that there is no market for Ward. I do not have BET in my package but if it was a fight I wanted to see, I would have switched one of my channels I infrequently watch for BET for a month. If it had been a better opponent for Ward, I certainly would have considered it.

People claim that there is nothing stopping a Ward - GGG fight. Well there is the proof they need... there is no money in it. Ward does not attract viewers. No one cares about him. He is certainly not an A side draw.

I don't think anyone other than Andre expected much more than that.

"I'm very excited to be coming back on June 20 at Oracle Arena in my hometown of Oakland, which has been a long time coming," Ward said. "I'm equally excited to be fighting on BET in front of a potential viewership of over 90 million homes.
Super middleweight champ Andre Ward will return from a 19-month layoff on June 20 against a "fresh and confident" Paul Smith of England at the Oracle Arena in Ward's hometown of Oakland.
