If you understand a THING about boxing you see Andre Ward is the exact elixir to befuddle Golovkin. GGG is way too easy to hit, for one. Ward is not only too big for him, but too fast, too precise, too good defensively. He would slice GGG up all night with that piston jab. Let's face facts, GGG is really good but he's a middleweight, and Andre Ward is much, much too good in every dept to lose to a smaller man.

I guess it depends on who'd you classify as a "tune-up". Fedor Chudinov is holding the regular WBA belt, and though he wouldn't be considered a tune-up for other fighters, he's nowhere near Ward's talent level. I wouldn't mind Chudinov/Medina next, but ideally, DeGale will happen before the end of 2016.

Its a hell of a lot better matchup than Ward-Smith. The two are on a collision course.

Until GGG has proven himself at 168, that collision course is just a mirage. Them talking **** to each other means nothing.

Chudinov would be a good opportunity for Ward to pick up a title along the way and then go from there.

The guy is one fight away from unifying the belts. Let him live. You would for plenty of other fighters including Ward. By the time Ward is settled in this guy should have fought for the WBC belt. Who knows Ward might like fighting in the 170's now.

He's going to fight whoever gets him to the WBC shot. You'd pass up the shot to unify to fight someone for the same amount of money that'll be there in a year? Ward looked good, we don't know what he plans to do either. Let the man live.

There's also an article where Chudinov seemed enthusiastic on facing Ward after his upcoming bout with Bugiloni. Maybe we get Chudinov/Ward in Nov/Dec. Ward should fight again this year.

Fair enough, but I'm rooting for the good fights and not belts because there's simply too many of them. If GGG is willing to move up for Froch or Chavez I was assuming he'd be ready too for Ward but boy was I wrong.
