Sometimes one has to read between the lines. If your on Wilder's team right now and have some sense you are faced with the following: A guy who has a big punch but by today's standards is being super hyped. You are probably thanking your lucky stars that Wilder, despite being limited was able to beat Stiverne....and you are wondering how to get him to the next step.

You might say "well lets give him a few stiffs to get him ready" but then you are reminded of your fighters limitations when your "gimme" opponent connects. So what do you do? who do you put in front of your man? Wilder should take the Chisora route, fighting often, and lose a few, get experience, and learn to develop the capacity to press for an entire round, develop defensively and get some skills but that won't happen because its easier to hype the guy.

He has talent but needs a lot of work even in this weak division.

The thing is... Fury was clowning at the time he was floored. He was showing absolutely no respect to cunningham. He got up and laid a beating on him after that. Dont be confused lil poor fanboys as im as real as it gets and here to tell you that Shot that dropped Fury woulda put Wilder in the hospital.

Cunningham is an excellent fighter. I think of it this way, If your a big guy fighting Cunningham, and keeping in mind that Cunningham is not going to stay outside and let you use your reach and jab all day...if you do not use your weight and levarage, you become, for-all-practical-purposes, disadvantaged by your supposed weight advantage. Fury made this adjustment and used his weight properly as an advantage under the circumstances.

While i would not say Cunningham is on the level of Evander Holyfield I would say that Evander when first coming up, before gainingweight himself, like Cunningham, could punch all day and would often use his activity and great punching ability to flumox supposed "real heavyweights."

Now now son....stop lurking on my home page!, I left my number on the basement wall so I know you can find it if you need to... there is nothing on my page that would possibly interest you. Your combacks lack irony, content and most important, they lack humor.

for Wilder to be put in trouble by a gimme fight is NOT the same as getting caught by a solid Cunningham punch. Lighter fighters, who can punch, have always been a threat to heavyweights and Cunningham is an excellent fighter.

Wilder is just too limited. he has not developed footwork, angles, he does not really set his punches up...compare Wilder to Tommty Morrison, another big puncher who had the same profile as Wilder when he was terra firma in the division. Morrison was limited but set his punches up well. I don't see it with Wilder. There is hope for him, he fought well against Stiverne, but he has to learn and not try to bomb...he also needs to be more active.

If Fury had been awful when he started he would still show the capacity to develop as a fighter....something you see in the best....something you don't necessarily see in guys like Chisora who are just not smart fighters. BUT Fury always had skills. Fury could already move well and fight in all ranges and he has now been taught to move, to avoid guys who can punch, and to counter big punchers. Fury has also become physically capable of fighting complete rounds...something lacking from many fighters these days.

Fury has many skills at this point. He can beat you inside, he can use his reach, he can fight up on his toes and he does not need to avoid confrontation because of his ability to counter and to do work in the clinques.

Fury is far and wide the most talented of the heavy weight prospects. Jennings was content to hang with Vlad, Fury will not be and has the size and skills to make Vlad cry.

So at a glance Wilder can throw big punches. he cannot fight inside, cannot put his punches together, cannot exert himself past a certain point. Fury can do all these things, is smart, has a great team...listen to Peter Fury's commentary, etc. Its no contest. This guy will beat Vlad IMO
              Absolutely outstanding post.

Especially the part about his team and Peter Fury, he truly is one of the best heavyweight trainers in the world today and is a serious task master who knows his boxing. I too think Fury can beat Wlad, will be Wlad even, that's why they don't want it here in England, I think when Fury fights Klitschko it will be his global coming out party, I don't think he will win pretty though. It'll be a squeeze and may well be controversial if it goes to the cards.

              Hope you're well, mate.

                I enjoyed the fight.

Big crowd, lively crowd, champ wobbled for a moment by underdog, nice eb and flow action, and a good KO win.

                Whats not to like?

Thank you! Would you believe I am just an alt for Elroy? lol

I heard Peter Fury commenting during the jennings fight and was very impressed. What he has done is make Tyson Fury appreciate the need to develop in all areas.

I also appreciate the bit about Fury being able to fight complete rounds. He might be labelled as a fat bum on here, but he has a brilliant engine. He throws twice as many punches as Wladimir Klitschko does in a fight.

I honestly wonder what you all will say if Wlad beats Fury... especially if it's an early KO win. The fact you guys think Fury can beat Wlad baffles me.

If Wlad wins this fight, puts Fury down. I hope he gets the respect he deserves.
