what was it about Margarito that made some of you think he was a threat to beat Money

Heinsight is 20/20 and now you can say he had no chance but imo it would have been a challenge for Floyd. You can say he was slow as molasses. But when Floyd fought Castillo, castillo was no speed demon and he arguably won the first fight. So believe it would have been entertaining. It wouldn't have been easy for Floyd to get the win, but speed kills and i think he would have won. I mean why do you think Floyd turn down 8 million to fight baldomir instead for 8 million and one dollar more. Fighting margarito at the time was a bigger fight and he would have banked more in that fight in the end. But people forget Margarito was a machine, big, had a granite chin and was just relentless. I wish that fight would have materialized.
I love the way you just so casually leave out of the bold the fact that meant signing an extension Arum/ Top Rank which is something that Floyd didn't want to do. Why also are you leaving out that Floyd and Arum(even though both are well known liars) said he would fight Margarito for the 8Mill if Arum gave him 10Mill Cotto and 20Mill for De la Hoya.

Don't only tell part of the story just so it can fit your narrative. No need for that.

      Agreed.

Although Margarito was past prime in Cotto II, Cotto did make some tactical adjustments in the fight. The adjustments he made are things that Floyds does very well. Pivoting round rather than just moving laterally along the ropes, properly transitioning offence and defence and then clinching if needed.

He would take 3 to give one

And Floyd ducked him but it's ok because Maragarito is a cheat and Floyd would have eventually fought him if margarito kept winning

Which would be a typical Mayweather match, Mayweather landing 210 punches to Margarito's 70.

Margs made Floyd fake retire. That's got to count for something.

After he got caught cheating, loading his gloves with plaster, he was no threat to anyone but himself.

Floyd always let others fight his battles. He let his opponents get shop worn and waits them out.

Look at him beating marquez leftovers in pac 5 years to late.

Every big win he waited a guy out .he beat big names well past it. He waits for the blueprint and then waits for them to be shop worn . He gets far to much credit.I see right through his career

                Imo floyd is overated.

Oh and quick question....why has no one but Floyd thought to do this in the last 20 years? I mean if it's that easy.....
