After Cotto, what's next for Alvarez?

Canelo/Rosado @154 is garbage tbh. It wouldn't be a good match-up @160 either, but at least it's tolerable. I really hope that Canelo doesn't start draining MWs just because he can't find good fights @LMW. Canelo said he wasn't impressed with MW so he better not drain them.
If N'Dam beats Lemieux, I can see Canelo facing him. I don't see GBP matching up Canelo/Lemieux though, at least not any-time soon.Last edited by kiaba360; 06-18-2015, 02:35 PM.Comment

I don't see Canelo GGG happening immediately after Cotto fight if Canelo wins. Facing GGG at 160 for your 1st fight at the new weight would be suicide, Canelo/Oscar have more sense than that. On that note, pretty big balls on Lara to call out GGG at 160.Comment

Why are you misrepresenting what I asked you? Gabe Rosado has not earned the right to fight a Canelo on HBO. He can't win and you know it. You saying he is "game" really means he will take a beating and isn't a threat. Why would you want to watch that guy? After the Cotto fight, I would prefer Canelo vs a quality opponent any day. But at the same time I have good sense to know that quality opponent vs quality opponent thing doesn't happen 100% of the time (not even for top guys like Floyd & Manny). Cotto fight will be a challenge for Canelo, after that if he chooses to fight Rosado at 154 or even at the full 160 limit as a tune up for better 160 opponents I'd be OK with that because even as a tune up it would be hella entertaining coz Rosado is a game guy as opposed to laughables like Salkas, Malignaggis etc.
You keep talking about what's wrong with boxing fans when you yourself expect all fighters to fight the best available guy/competitive guy 100% of the times? Tone down your expectations as a "fan"...it's not gonna happen, it has never happened that way. I;m guessing you skipped most of Floyd's career because a UD win wasn't obvious in most of his fights.
I never asked he fight the best available did I? I asked you why you wouldn't want to see him test himself with a quality opponent rather than a mismatch?Comment

I like Andrade. A lot. He's a great talent but what's he been up to?
We'd probably see Canelo vs GGG 5 de Mayo at a catch weight of like 157 or 8. If he loses or wins, we'd likely see him in vs Cotto for Sept if the fight was great and the winner would get dibs at GGG again. Or if he got even past GGG depending on how fan friendly that was a rematch. There's also Lemiux and GGG could fight on that undercard vs Chavez Jr. A lot can happen once those sep and may dates are freed by Floyd. If Cotto losses emphatically I dont see him fighting more than 3 times before he (deservedly so) calls it quits on an exciting career.
If anything, I see it more likely Cotto fights Andrade if he loses than with Canelo. Lara isnt getting a rematch ever with Canelo unless he makes enough noise.
Or maybe Cotto would fight Quillin or Lee.Last edited by NearHypnos; 06-18-2015, 02:39 PM.Comment

It;ll be more than tolerable, not many options left for him anyway.Canelo/Rosado @154 is garbage tbh. It wouldn't be a good match-up @160 either, but at least it's tolerable.
