You can bet that Cotto will either vacate his belt or be stripped of it rather than fight GGG. Cotto is the mandatory next fight for GGG. Cotto wants to fight Canelo next for more money and it will be more money but the manly thing to do is honor your word and fight GGG first then Canelo.
But Cotto has already went back on his word before. Back in October GGG made the fight with Rubio to be the mandatory for the opportunity that Cotto got from the WBC to fight Martinez. When Cotto made that deal with the WBC he understood that *after one optional fight, he then had to fight the winner of Rubio/Golovkin sometime this year. Cotto made that deal with the WBC in order to get the opportunity against Martinez. Or else Martinez would have probably fought somebody else or fought Golovkin. *Now that Cotto has to live up to that arrangement he is not being honorable. He is backing out because he is being a diva. He fights Geale and doesn’t fight the winner of Golovkin/Rubio. So what does that say about Cotto’s word.

Fight at 160 and ON HBO.
We have been through this already.
Lara doesn't look much like a middleweight but Id love for this fight to happen. It would be interesting to see Golovkin's approach to "Cuban School of Boxing." This may be the one situation where there is some validity towards the triangle theory. Angulo applied a ton of pressure on Lara and was able to successfully cut the ring off so based off of that fight I'd have to say the bigger, more skilled, Olympian would win by 9rd. TKO

I'm beginning to think it's K2 that makes these excuses and lie. Golovkin would fight anyone but his handlers are the problem.

I can see your point clearly and it does hold weight. I too am restless with GGG and there are half a dozen "big fights" he could make, some fighters you have mentioned BUT I'd add that Cotto holds what GGG wants, the lineal and WBC in GGG's division. He wants to unify and I think he should be aloud to chase that right? The 168 guys simply have to wait as he has not done what he wants to do, he hasn't unified the division.

Where I'm getting very annoyed is when the Cotto hasn't been made he's fought Monroe, he could of fought someone better than Monroe fact. It's very frustrating and I won't defend him for that.

He's just tried to make the Froch fight so KUDOS to him for that but now that means he should try and make the Lara as Canelo is getting his dance with Cotto next.

There's now no excuse for Gennady to fight a bum.

Lara just using Golovkin's name for publicity, same as Ward. He doesn't want the fight and I don't blame him because he gets laid out. Nothing to see here.

I don't think Lara would do any better against GGG than Willie Monroe Jr did.
GGG KO's him in the first half of the fight and all the disingenuous **** talkers here who were calling for this fight will cry about "GGG picking on little fighters!".

How much does Lara weigh on fight night?

I must have missed when GGG became Ward's mandatory.
