Lara got $1m+ to fight Rodriguez, he's not getting near that to fight Golovkin.
Haymon will just tell him he'll pay him more to fight someone else.
And that's flat out ******. 2 of the best fighters in the world and the top fighters in their respective division are fighting each other to challenge themselves to see who is the best and HBO can't pay the fighters at least a million a piece? That's fucking ridiculous.

This should be a $3-4 million fight.
Odd that there is a group of posters on NSB that are ok with HBO setting a "low" wage scale for boxers. They are also keen to point out how purses affect fights being made.
This after years of posting that what a boxer makes is neither there concern or relevant to getting fights being made.
The best part about PBC, other than more boxing on TV, has been that its existence has made posters completely change their positions on a number of issues and made it more difficult for them to mask their true problems/agenda.

The fighters are the one's performing. They deserve the lions share of the revenue generated from site fees, ticket sales, advertising, etc. I don't know how anyone can support Bob Arum or whoever else underpaying fighters and taking the bulk of the revenue. And then have the nerve to try and tell a fighter how much he is worth.
Fact of the matter is that HBO exploits lower level fighters. The Kirkland's, Monroe's, Tapia's, Caparello's, Mohammedi's, Agnew's etc. These fighters have 0 chance of winning going into the fight, command cheap purses but deliver them great ratings because they get knocked out in highlight reel fashion by elite pound for pound level fighters. Killer ratings at a low cost is great business.
