Wladimir will turn 40 in March of 2016 - beating him after that won't mean as much. Wilder himself said Wlad showed his age against Jennings.
Wilder should try to fight him THIS YEAR or early 2016 at the latest. The longer he waits, the less credit he'll receive if he wins.

Deontay's planning to fight another poor opponent on September 26.
Wlad would prefer to fight Wilder instead of Fury, but Deontay doesn't want it until the real champion gets OLDER.

I think if/when Wlad gets a shot to unify the belts, that should be his last fight. If Wilder gets past Povetkin (big if), and Wlad gets past Fury (not assured either but I like his chances), then Wlad/Wilder is a good last fight. Retire as the first undisputed heavyweight champ in over a decade.
But idk, while he didn't look his best against Jennings, he still has yet to be made to look his age. Who knows, maybe Wlad will still be able to hold onto his dominant position in his 40s.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 06-15-2015, 11:55 AM.

Unification takes precedence over mandatories.
