So what if Wilder's reach is superior? He's exhibited no defensive ability, and Povetkin is a master on the inside.

If a bum like Molina can land flush on Deontay, you can sure as hell bet an Olympic Champion can.

Come in with a jab to get on the inside and once on the inside, pound the body. Move in and out, don't stay in punching range for too long. Don't allow Wilder to hold when you're on the inside. Once you weaken the body, it will slow down his movement and open up headshots. How's that for a strategy?

When a guy is leading with his head into your stomach, there's really not much a guy of Wlad's size can do. He's reduced to punching Povetkin's back while Sasha is teeing off on his liver? How is that fair? That's how Povetkin fights like a little hunchback driving his head forward. In this case, since Wlad is much taller and longer than he, it just led to silly tactics when he wasn't eating jabs and rights.

A lot of the DQ talk in my estimation was simply that Povetkin was destroyed after a lot of people were building him up. Boring fight to watch as well..
200 pound Marco Huck stood up to Povetkin and out boxed him more convincingly than Wlad did. He stood toe-to-toe with him without a care in the world and almost had him out with nothing but his two mits.

Why was 245 pound 6'6 foot Wlad terrified of Povetkin and felt he had to back hump the life out of him every 5 seconds?

Wilder was an utter novice fighter at that point, maybe two years and 15 fights in to his run with boxing.

Wilder's near 40 pounds heavier and a near decade more experienced than he was at that point. If you're hanging you hat on that, you're hilarious.
