Having the title and GGG holding the interim/mandatory spot is the definition of having to fight him.

Drop the belt and then you don't have to fight him....

I still don't understand why he won't vacate. Canelo already said he has no intention of moving up right now so why would he want to hold a title in a division he is not campaigning at?

Jones immediately vacated though. He didn't defend the title against someone Lewis destroyed. Also comparing Jones to Lewis isn't quite the same as Cotto to GGG. Lewis was like 7 feet tall 300 pounds. Further Cotto beat the lineal champ in Sergio, Jones just beat the weakest title holder at that time.
