Not all experience is the same. That's a very simplistic way to put it, might as well concede Canelo is already superior to Cotto since he has more wins. Obviously that would be idiotic since you have to consider the opposition and the stage in the careers in where they were fought.

Cotto had a lengthy amateur career with well over 100 fights as well as competing in the Olympics. Canelo had very little to no amateur experience and started his professional career at 15, that's six years earlier than Cotto and accumulated 36 of his 47 pro bouts during that span. Cotto has far more elite level experience there's no dis*****g that, which is the only experience that matters and truly makes fighters better.

Take out Floyd's numbers because that's what they are, not Canelo's. Using that... Canelo has 600k buys lifetime, Cotto did that with Margarito in one fight. That's not counting the other nearly 3 million buys he has without Floyd. Just another new and clueless boxing fan, welcome to where the big boys play.

Why take out the numbers he did with Floyd??? The both fought the same guy and Canelo did almost 800,000 million more buys than Cotto did....that's a lot. I wouldn't call Cotto a PPV attraction he did 600,000 against Margarito what a surprise a Mexican fighter other than that take out Pac and Mayweather and Cotto's PPV numbers are pedestrian at best. Canelo fought 2 nobodies in Lara and Angulo yet he sold more than Cotto did vs Judah, Martinez those are guys who people knew and he still outsold them. Not to mention Cotto got his ass whooped against Trout while Canelo went on to whoop that ass!!!! Cotto is done he looked good against 3 bums great, but I guarantee you Canelo brings in more fans and money than Cotto does.

Look at Canelol. They saw Cotto and now are talking about other options and/or only fight Cotto in Texas from what I've heard. Cotto should never accept a fight in Texas, Vegas is fine but Texas is the last place anyone should go if they aren't from there or the only Mexican in the fight.

That or they're scared he'll take a Floyd fight first, I can promise you Canelo isn't fighting GGG instead. He doesn't want Cotto but he'll fight GGG? It's Canelo his plan B and C are the level of fighters he's looking to face instead of Cotto. He'll demand Texas, half the money and the date. Then once again say it was Cotto's fault it didn't happen and his fans will fall for it again.

Cotto is the A side only in his own mind. Fact is Canelo is the bigger star and bigger draw. Don't believe me who pulled bigger TV rating for HBO? Who pulled bigger Ppv buys vs Mayweather? Who sells more seats and fills bigger arenas? Cotto lost Trout in a half filled MSG a few months later Canelo beats Trout in front of 40,000. And it's a fact Cotto has already turned down a fight with Canelo twice despite having career high payday on the table. Canelo is the A side and having a backup plan is just smart when dealing with Cotto. He needs Canelo more then Cotto needs him. Canelo is young with many years left cotto is getring old and cant waste another year doing nothing. Cotto if he don't fight Canelo has to fight GGG or get stripped.

No he is not clear and simple. Once he beats Cotto (if he does) Then he can start acting like A-side.
