Pretty sure this fight is not going to happen. It has nothing to do with the Haymon ban or anything like that.
GGG simply has other options. The most likely being the winner of NDam and Lemiuex later in the year. Or even Andy Lee (less likely). Or if he somehow secures a fight between the winner of Cotto-Canelo then he'll probably fight a lower tier opponent before he faces one of them.

But just for giggles, its raining and is a slow day at the store so I will try and address your points:
1. You claim Lara is willing to fight anyone. Great. Who (besides you and maybe 10 other people) even cares? His fights are about as exciting as a 2nd coat of paint. He's not ranked at 160, holds no titles at 160, and is not a mando at 160. Other than satisfying 10 internet trolls (who 10 minutes after the fight wil be here complaining that GGG is picking on jr middleweights), what purpose does a Lara fight serve?
1) give Golovkin some validation
2) be the best name on his weak resume'
3) show that GGG can potentially deal with the style of Ward/Dirrell, etc
Originally posted by OnePunch View Post2. GGG will fight anyone from 154-168. True. His team has said MANY MANY times that their main focus is to unify 160, but they would go down to 154 or up to 168 for BIG fights. 154 for Floyd or Pac, 168 for Chavez or Froch. Up until today, the only statement on record from Lara (not his manager) was a video of him saying he was 154, and was staying at 154. So he wasnt in the discussion, because GGG aint going to 154 to fight Lara. Now Laras team says 160, so we'll see. There are promotional obstacles to overcome (Haymon/HBO), and who knows if HBO would even buy Lara, but at least its something that can NOW be discussed.
Weight/money simply cannot be used as an excuse to avoid Lara.
If Golovkin wants to fight 153lb Cotto, then obviously Lara is not too small.
And if GGG is prepared to fight for Willie Monroe paydays, he can fight Lara.
Originally posted by OnePunch View Post3. Lara calls out Floyd-GGG, etc: Again, nobody cares. Lara is horrible to watch, and cant sell out the first 3 rows of a school bus. He talked himself into the Canelo fight, and then stunk out the place. Im not sure people fall for his act again. But if there is no better option for GGG Sept fight, then maybe he gets it.
Again, does Willie Monroe sell out the MGM ?
Golovkin currently has the resume that he wanted, if he didnt like it, he would change it.
Keep fighting the Monroes.
Folks keep referring to Golovkin as this killer, and as a top fighter, blah, blah..... but what would people say if Floyd Mayweather selected a Monroe level opponent?
Golovkin is hyped !
Originally posted by OnePunch View Post4. GGG supporters accept Monroe. etc: We dont have a choice. The Cottos, Frochs, etc dont seem to want to fight him. And just because 10 people rate Lara higher than Monroe or Murray, that doesnt make it a sellable fight to the promoters, or the network, and theirs is the only opinion that matters.
But, let me explain to you why I respect Canelo far more than I respect Hypekin.
Hoya had attempted to steer Canelo away from Lara on numerous occasions.
When Hoya was in rehab, Schaeffer made the Lara fight.
Hoya was fuming.
Canelo DEMANDED Lara !
There were no money excuses from Canelo, no style excuses.
Canelo and Lara will fight anyone, unlike Golovkin it seems.
So, GGG fans will continue to hear about Golovkins poor opponent selection.
Originally posted by OnePunch View Post5. GGG-Lara can happen: We dont know this. None if us here know the TRUE status of the HBO-Haymon relationship. Would HBO put a Haymon fighter on? Would Haymon allow Lara to fight off-PBC? Would Lara actualy take the fight at 160 or is todays press release just Decubas talking out his a**? These are questions we dont know the answers to yet.
For the record, I think its a garbage fight, and Golovkin ghouls Lara inside 6 rounds, but it would forever shut up the "but but Lara doe" idiots, so im fine with the fight.
Be interesting to see if Team Golovkin feel the same way.
BTW, I do understand your point.
I feel the same way about Ward/Kovalev.
I am more than happy for that fight to get made.

But Golovkin needs to face higher level opponents considering his hype.

By the way, didn't PBC have that Garcia/Peterson fight which was the best fight that could be made at the 140 pound division?

The "hoops" that you cry about Lara having to jump through is what needs to happen to make this fight.
