I was hoping this wasn't true. Cuz it wouldn't make sense. I saw it posted today. If you find that ESPN article can you post it?

But what's the meaning of this? I never understood when they put different events on the same date. Maybe they can do better numbers than the other one but it still HARMFUL for their ratings and viewer ship no matter if they beat their rival. This is just dumb as fuck. For example why the hell there are 3 cards on the 20th of June? Roc Nation card with Ward, PBC on NBC with Broner vs Porter and Lemieux vs N'dam in Montreal. It just doesn't make sense, everybody loses on this relatively.

This is just another way to build up interest in the next Canelo fight.
True... I think I saw somewhere a comment that they have been hashing out the "details" even before the Geale fight. That they just wanted to keep in in the quiet I guess. IMO this fight needs to get done. No excuses FROM BOTH OF THEM.

Canelo is being stubborn, but he has youth on his side. The longer it takes to make the match-up, the more it hurts Cotto imo.

You are right. With different cards like this the FANS are the ones who ultimately lose out.

But they are in the business of competition so...

This is a classic case of using Floyd's name to build up your own.

They wanna pretend that they can compete with Floyd as if they were a comparable draw.

In reality the decision is not even theirs to make.

No problem. Cotto can fight Golovkin in the meantime.
