And Mayweather does not have a credible opponent. Which PPV you buying Mayweather vs fringe contender, or Canelo vs (hopefully) Cotto? I know what I'm getting.

And where Canelo is from, maximizing profits is already done. Dude is from farms with multi millions of dollars, and will make millions more despite what date Mayweather fights on. Dude is financially set already, if he does the right things with his money. That's on him, and the day he fights won't change that.
Only way Canelo fights on Sept 12th is if Floyd dies or they do a rematch other than that he fights October or November.

True, but credible opponent or not. Cotto is the one who is not gonna compete PPVs.

That's fine, and I understand that, to be honest. I'm just playing Devils advocate.

So I guess he's taking an interim fight before Cotto?

They can't beat him in the ring... so they are gonna try to beat him at PPVs. Which is ****** cuz it's floyd's last fight regardless.
A fight at 160 would favor Canelo a fight at 152 favors Floyd make him weak so we can win

Canelo may need to wait to see if Cotto is actually going to fight on that date first

if you read the rest of the posts on this thread you will see that this came from an outdated article, even bigpoppa posted in this thread to deny the info..

Is it really? Do you think Hispanics(their demographic they are targeting specifically) are going to buy Mayweather/Khan over the Canelo/Cotto fight? I highly doubt it. Might as well pick a hot hispanic holiday to promote this mega fight to maximize their profits. If they are worried about the casuals buying it, it doesn't matter because majority of them don't really know who Cotto or Canelo are and furthermore the travesty of Pac/May may have turned them off from ever buying a ppv again or for awhile.
