Mayweather does that # against anyone, pretty much.

      • Cinco De Mayo is only a Mexican holiday in San Diego, LA and Las Vegas. Mexican citizens care less about that day.

Pretty much anybody Mayweather fights does about a mil, give or take 100-200K. Alexander has no story to sell so he falls on the lower end of that spectrum.

Mayweather has fought 10 times since crossing over with Oscar. Four of those opponents are Mexican. Go figure.

I'm pretty sure Alexander does have some story to tell. It's just a large population of the PPV buying audience won't care because he's not Mexican/Hispanic.

The other 6 were who? Ricky Hatton who had an unrivalled following in the UK. Shane Mosley who had been twice on PPV with Oscar. Miguel Cotto who had a huge PR fanbase. Marcos Maidana twice who is Hispanic. Oritz who is Mexican-American. And Manny Pacquaio....

I suppose it's also a coincidence that he floods his undercards with Mexican fighters.

Floyd vs. Alexander does a million buys. Believable.

Victor Ortiz is half Mexican. Marcos Maidana twice who is Hispanic. Oritz who is Mexican-American. And Manny Pacquaio....

              Ricky Hatton...white.

              Mosley...Black.

Cotto...Puerto Rican (yeah...they care about Cinco de Mayo)

Maidana...Argentine (yeah...they care about Cinco de Mayo)

              Ortiz

              Pacquiao

Bottom line, there is no holiday in May. Second, it's clear his opponent choice is based on popularity and buzz, not race.

              • It's funny how the excuses are made as to why Floyd sells. He tied with Lebron as the biggest athlete in America he's mainstream that's why he sells.

                • Dirk talking about Cinco De Mayo is about the funniest **** I have ever seen. No one celebrates that day because of whatever it indicates, it's another St. Patricks Day and an excuse to drink. In fact, Canelo has a better shot of taking over St. Patty's day weekend considering as many Mexicans drink on that day as they do Cinco De Mayo lol.

Seriously, Cinco De Mayo in the US = St. Patricks Day in the US. One day you drink green beer the other one you drink Corona. It does NOTHING for PPV buys.

I'm still trying to figure out when it became a holiday. When's the last time you met someone who "celebrated?" ****, 4/20 is a bigger day than that
