THAT is part of the problem. If the winner has no intention of fighting GGG, then there is no reason for the title to be at stake during the fight. It would basically be false advertising for the fight. If they sign the contract, they should be obligated to take the fight with GGG. If not, they should have to pay a portion of their purse to GGG for breach of contract.

Making GGG wait another 4 to 6 months only to vacate the title is bullshit. Vacate it now so that Golovkin can defend it twice in the time it takes Cotto and Canelo to get their fight done.
