Anyway, why does what any fighter make come into the discussion? Poor Gennady might not be able to afford feeding his family at a measly $4-5M a year. Clearly he's hurting economically. Get him that mega fight with DeGale so he can afford some bread crumbs!

GGG clearly wants a mega fight to launch him to the next stage, DeGale doesn't do that for him. Chavez didn't want to get in with him for $7M, Froch doesn't seem to want to get in with him. Cotto has Canelo next. What other big names are there for him?

Additionally, I'll preemptively mention Ward since I know that that's coming. Mention a big name that people care about outside of the boxing circle. Cotto, Canelo, Chavez Jr and Froch are names that even casuals know.

    I'll wait.
That's the problem with Golovkin though. He's 33 years old and his resume is piss poor. Yet he feels entitled to a huge payday against a PPV star.

Otherwise he'll feast on bums and no hopers. I don't see what he's done in his career to turn his nose up at a DeGale fight.

GGG needs a new team around him. Nobody is a big enough fight money wise. But at the same time, he's being ducked because he himself is not a big enough fight money wise.

No, it won't be. Lee got what? 500K for fighting Quillin and he was the champion! There is no money in a Quillin fight and Quillin cannot fight on HBO and probably would not even make weight. Not to mention that the fight would be quicker than the Monroe fight - I doubt Quillin makes it past round 3.

His age is irrelevant, he didn't turn pro when he was 16. BHop is/was still going at 49, mainly because he lived a healthy lifestyle, which Golovkin seems to also do. Not saying their accomplishments are equal, just their outside-the-ring lifestyle.

He's chasing people, calling them out, especially the big names. People have always done that. He's got fans so the money excuse is barely passable, he's a draw, so now it's just to see which of the big names wants to step up to the plate.

His age is pretty important. I don't think he's fighting till his 49. That's why I referred to DeGale who is much younger and achieved more in one night than GGG has in his entire pro career.

He's chasing big names but turns his nose up at middle tier names like Lara or DeGale or Ward and then goes and fights complete no hopers like Munroe

Every time I see a post by Diggler, which are hidden by default due to being on my ignore list, I think of this song... just change the words a little bit and it suits him perfectly...

Come on bro, we know you read every last one of my posts. That's why you have to keep saying "Dirk is on ignore so I don't read his posts" over and over and over.

You're 58 years old and you put everyone on Ignore who doesn't deep throat Golovkin.

                  You have some issues.

Ummm same reason Cotto didn't do a PPV in his last fight lol...
