i thought myself MANY times, about how ****ed up it is that philly pay all that attention to a fictional character from the movies rather than the actual warriors of the sport.

bhops is just too polarizing. there's no doubt that the city is a laughing stock, erect a statue for an actor, while frazier is FROM that city? it's a joke.

The Rocky statue was a movie prop in a pretty famous movie that was donated to the city of Philadelphia. So it wasn't as if the city put a statue up that tax dollars paid for. And from what I understand the statue is a pretty popular tourist attraction. I also bet that most Philly boxing fans find Bhop to be a rather boring fighter, inside the ring, regardless of the color of their skin. Rocky also made into the Hall of Fame before Bhop.
